CNN Anchor: ‘We’re Not Supposed To Call Americans Dumb, But…’
Written By : Ed Driscoll

As Tim Graham writes at Newsbusters, CNN’s Roland Martin thinks you’re stupid:

Well, not you, specifically, just a lot of you in general. “We got some pretty dumb people,” says the Chicago-based CNN contributor, relaxing in the network’s offices at Tribune Tower between appearances discussing “broken government.” “I mean, I know we’re not supposed to call Americans dumb…but sometimes you gotta go ahead and say it.”

Voters who barely show up at the polls, tea partyers who don’t know the federal stimulus bill included tax cuts, Obama supporters who haven’t done anything since the election but whine about how little the President has accomplished—they all burn him up.

This quote runs just about a year after another CNN anchor insulted half his audience, and another (since released) referred to half his audience as looking like Nazis.

And yet, CNN executives wonder why they just can’t seem to connect in the ratings these days. I mean, I know we’re not supposed to call network heads dumb, but sometimes you gotta go ahead and say it.

Sure pal. The government is mired in debt, completely dysfunctional, unable to address any of the pressing issues of the day in a meaningful way, rife with corruption, and can't even perform it's most basic of Constitutional duties (botching the census, can't secure the border), but the people asking something be done about it are “dumb”.

What the liberals are really terrified about is that everybody is figuring out that most people in the government are about as smart or stupider than the average American. There's nothing special about these bozos. They inherited a big enough trust fund or kissed the right behinds to get into office, and they figure out pretty quickly who to pay off because they sure as hell aren't getting reelected on merit.

The government is mired in debt because of the people you put in power. People in government are Americans, you nitwit, both conservative and democrat. The government is us. Why do you hate yourself so much?

      • StanW

Peter, the DEMOCRATS are in charge right now. WE didn't put any of them there, that was what you and your ilk did.

You wanted power so bad, well now you have it. Your team has a chance to do what the Republicans were unable or unwilling to do. And all we get from you is “Waaaaaaaa, it's the Republicans fault”.

Well man up and do something about it and sto blaming other people for your own failures!

Stain, we are cleaning up the mess left by Bush, who took office with a surplus and squandered it.

You all are Johnny come lately in the fiscal responsibility department, but it's ok, the economy does better under democratic leadership.

          • tblrk2006

Sorry son, a projected surplus on paper aint cash in the bank. Oh, and that projection didnt take into account 9/11. Go back to your teacher and have him explain.

          • StanW

Got tired of Zimmy and Jack_Schite, so you are using Peter now.

The Democrats have been in charge of Congress and the nations pursestrings for over two years now and things keep getting WORSE. And when you are not making things worse, you are whining “But… but… but BUSH DID IT!”

            So much for Democrat leadership.

          • http://www.patriotpost.com bthewolf

Well accept for the fact that almost of Clintoons 'surplus' was the result of the Rep controlled congress.

          • whats_up

What does that have to do with Bush squandering it?

          • StanW

It never existed, crthns. Can't squander something that never existed. It would be the same as someone saying your squandered your credibility on this board.

          • whats_up

            Stanley,

The surplus certianly existed, denying the truth doesnt make it a lie, its still the truth Stan, you are just going to have to live with that fact.

          • http://www.patriotpost.com bthewolf

Bush had issues with spending as much as anyone, but Bush was a tightwad compared to Pelousi, Reid, and Odrama.

          • Christopher_Taylor

Off topic, trolling crap gets flagged here

I don't. I just hate you, Peter. Just you.

        Go die in a fire.

One thing he might consider: Tea Partiers are for constitutionally limited government, not just less taxes. And, if I believe you are taking ten dollars too much in taxes and you reduce that take by one dollar, but your policies have resulted in a three dollar increase from another source, a source that you now tax heavier, you may have decreased a tax, but increased my tax liability. I guess that illustration was too dumb for him to follow, so he just looks at the one tax that was reduced. Well, for a CNN anchor, what do you expect?

    • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/C2UYYYSPBB7S3NC3NQ7NOJFLME Peter

Tea baggers want a balanced budget without paying more taxes. They want their government handout, please, but screw everyone else.

Tea baggers are pie in the sky head up the ass dreamers.

      • tblrk2006

And what, pray tell, govt handout do tea parties want? We want less govt and less taxes. THat means we want the govt to give you less free stuff, at our expense, and for you to be more self sufficient. Imagine that.

        • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/C2UYYYSPBB7S3NC3NQ7NOJFLME Peter

Most of the tea baggers are old folks who like their Social security and Medicare.

          • tblrk2006

Then you will have no problem proving those are in fact “old people” who rely on medicare and SS. Im waiting.

          • tbone76

And most criminals are black. See how easy it is to generalize without facts?

      • the_hawk

I guess it would never occur to you that you can balance a budget by cutting spending too? And history has proven that tax cuts result in higher revenues. Happened with Kennedy's tax cut, Reagan's tax cut and Bush's tax cut.

    Peter: “bark bark bark”…….moonbat

    • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/C2UYYYSPBB7S3NC3NQ7NOJFLME Peter

      Yawn. GTFU

      • http://www.patriotpost.com bthewolf

Yeah that's a real good comeback jack_auff. So when do you graduate middle school?

  • http://profiles.yahoo.com/u/ELCWV5ANDUEJ5D5PB35FL2LZ6Y Bildo

What's amazing is just how dumb a so-called analyst is for CNN.

There were no tax cuts in the stimulus package. There were tax credits, i.e. welfare, graciously paid for by the Chinese government, but there were no tax cuts.

    What a horribly uneducated, liar.

  • UFKA_Smithwick

Democrats have long considered the American people to be more of an obstacle than anything else.

And given the rejection of many of their policies and the dwindling ratings at CNN his contempt is predictable.

Sniveling contempt is as much a democrat platform as raising taxes and increasing the size of government. Their policies come about as a direct result of their distrust, contempt, and outright hatred of the average person.

  • CNN=morons

    This is pretty simple.

If you work at CNN you work for a company well known as liars. You are in no position to comment on ANYONE else's intelligence if you work there. You work at CNN because you can't get a job doing real news.
