It is my sense that the Democrats want to get across the message that “we mostly agree” so that when the Republicans and Blue Dogs howl at this nonsense, they’ll argue bad faith.

I don’t think that message is working. The Republicans are talking facts, not emotions.

The fact is that the Dems could pass Obamacare if they really wanted to. The problem is that they are too splintered and too many of them are scared for their jobs this year. Their greatest foe in this battle is not the GOP, but themselves. They are their own worst enemy.

Jack reminds me so much of a poster we had on here a while back. Wino aka Tom Wark. He claimed many things, but had a deep seated hatred for religion and women. One of his favorite debate tactics was as follows:
Conservative: I agree with Point A.
Wino: Got any proof that Point A is true?
Conservative: Proof #1 with link, Proof #2 with link, Proof #3 with link, Proof #4 with link, etc.
Wino: So you have no proof of Point A. I WIN!

So there is Jack, faced with undeniable evidence that the Republicans have plans and ideas; and Obama is ignoring them all. And all either of them can do is whine “Republicans have no ideas”.

Apparently the networks are cutting away rapidly, its boring and probably the GOP is doing better than they hoped – and Obama worse.

Everyone has this image of Obama being this brilliant speaker and teacher but the truth is, without practice and lines written for him he comes off as repetitive and dull. He’s not a brilliant orator or statesman. He’s a doll with a string on the back who can repeat what people give him with great skill.
