Henry Waxman Asks Sec. Chu To Create Globull Warming Re-Education Program
Written By : William Teach

Because you haven’t been exposed enough to the so-called science of anthropogenic global warming, er, climate change, er, climate crisis, Henry Waxman wants more, and penned a letter to Energy Secretary Steven Chu (via Minnesotans For Global Warming). A few excerpts (full letter for your amusement at MGW)

I am writing to urge you to lead a national campaign to educate the public about the causes and dangers of climate change.

You know why Waxman is concerned?

Yet at the same time that the scientific evidence has grown stronger and extreme weather has become more frequent and intense, the public’s understanding of the danger has been diminishing. According to data from the Yale Project on Climate Change Communication, there has been a decline in the percentage of Americans who think climate change is occurring (from 71% in 2008 to 64% in 2011), a decline in the percentage of Americans who believe climate change is caused by man (from 57% in 2008 to 47% in 2011), and a decline in the percentage of Americans who are worried about climate change (from 63% in 2008 to 52% in 2011). There has even been a noticeable drop in the percentage of Americans who understand that there is a scientific consensus that climate change is happening (from 47% in 2008 to 39% in 2011).

He mentions “consensus” in the second paragraph, too. Science is not consensus: politics is.

Waxman then spends some time demonizing the oil and coal industries, and they are evil in his world….hey, wait, Waxman receives money from the United Auto Workers, who build evil cars that use fossil fuels. And the National Beer Wholesalers Assn, and beer releases lots of CO2. And the National Cable and Telecommunications Assn, Comcast, and Time Warner, and DVRs are really bad for global warming. Oh, and the number 1 PAC to donate to him during the 2009-2010 election season was ….. News Corp, which is supposedly made up of evil deniers. Oh, and $6,000 from the oil and gas sector.

Your position as Secretary of Energy and your world-renowned stature as a scientist mean you are in a unique position to speak with authority about the science of climate change and the frightening consequences of inaction.

Nope, sorry, Henry, you alarmists state that we are only supposed to listen to climatologists, and Chu has a BA in Math, BS in Physics, and a PhD in Physics. Bummer. Also, since you don’t have a degree in climatology, you should probably ignore yourself, Henry.

I ask you to investigate the disconnect that appears to be growing between the scientific and the public understanding of climate change. I hope you will then decide to lead a national effort to ensure the public is fully and accurately informed about the science of climate change and its implications for human health and welfare.

The disconnect between people who are pushing a failed cult designed to implement more controls over people and economies and people who are realizing that something is hinky when the people who push the issue the most rarely practice what they preach. That’s what sent me on my way from being a True Believer up till the early 2000′s to being a Climate Realist.

Ok William, I’ll start out being Slow Joe.

Teach, you don’t know what you’re talking about.  There is consensus with a 100 billion scientist.  You really need to shut up and go back and do your research!!!  Your not a climatologist!!!

    /moonbat off

California needs to fall off in to the Pacific Ocean or just bite the bullet and let Mexico have it.  That way we would get rid of Waxman, Botox Nancy Piglosi, Babs Boxer, Maxine Waters and that other congress woman that didn’t pay her mortgages.

Sorry Porksoda, you need to get you and your family out of Dodge pronto…

Remember, it’s not just the 100 billion scientists: aliens have been visiting the Earth since the 1940′s because we are polluting our biosphere with greenhouse gases and they want to spread awareness about the coming plight!

Sadly, I ran across a Kindle book on Amazon that actually had that as a premise.

      • gfchicago

Sounds like a really bad B movie from the 50′s that I saw when I was a kid.

        • http://www.thepiratescove.us/ William_Teach

True. I get a lot of good cheap books with Kindle, and I read a lot of sci fi, and every once in a while the author will throw in those types of references. I read a really, really good one, that ended with that type of far left liberal “the UN is our only hope for kumbaya”, last chapter totally ruined the whole thing. It was funny how the peaceful aliens had to, you know, actually fight back and use force in order to defeat the other aliens who were kicking their a**es.

So is Al Gore an alien?

      gf,

It’s ironic that the main thing that keeps me here in So Cal is the beautiful weather.

      • gfchicago

I know my brother lives in Escondido and keeps telling me how great the weather is and has been after me to move out there.

I just don’t  know if l could stand living in the land of fruits and nuts! No offense Hawk.

Hope you, Mrs. Hawk and the kiddos are doing well.  Have fun with your remodeling project.

First amendment: you can’t force kids to attend the state sanctioned church.

    • Anonymous

Yes, but Nostrilitis Waxman, like all leftists, has no problem with subverting that or any other amendment.

      • Toastrider

Quite true. And they’ll insist it’s not a religion, just ‘common sense for the future’.

No other field is this desperate to indoctrinate people at a young age (before critical thinking skills can develop) to prevent them from disagreeing.

    None.

Climate change could be a science, but the current incarnation of it certainly is not.  It’s a business/cult/gang/scam but definitely not a legitimate field of science.

    • Anonymous

Dude, I don’t know if you have small children or not, but I have found myslef downright stunned by how pervasive the indoctrination is on all of the pre-school channels (Sprout, NickJr, PBSKids, et all).

Ah but nothing today can compete with Captain Planet for sheer propaganda value.

/I always felt bad for that little indian kid.  Heart.  What kind of power is that?  I’d have gone with fire.

      • Anonymous

It’s funny, you never see officially sanctioned government propaganda for conservative ideals.

        Quite the contrary.

Generally speaking the side that most feels it must indoctrinate children before they can think is the side that knows it is in the wrong.

For any leftist trolls out there this roughly translates as “double plus good” in your newspeak.

I know what you mean my young daughter watches the disney channel and that global warming hoax/scam/ponzi scheme is pushed daily, no alternative view is ever presented.  But my daughter has me to set her straight and I make sure I do.

This letter smacks of desperation. LOL. Waxman sounds like Princess Leia, “Help me, Secretary Chu, you’re my only hope.”

“That’s what sent me on my way from being a True Believer up till the early 2000′s to being a Climate Realist.”

Politics, right? Teach your credentials are so below the minimum standard to comment on global warming, I’m really surprised that you can criticize someone with a phd in physics. No matter. Science is not for everyone, especially the politically minded.

Try placing that quote in the context of the sentences which came immediately before it.  Here, let me give you a quick refresh:

The disconnect between people who are pushing a failed cult designed to
implement more controls over people and economies and people who are
realizing that something is hinky when the people who push the issue the
most rarely practice what they preach. That’s what sent me on my way
from being a True Believer up till the early 2000′s to being a Climate
      Realist.

When you read the whole paragraph it’s obvious that Mr. Teach specifically cited two major aspects of the AGW community pushed him away from it

      1. That much of the aim of the AGW was and is to exert control over others, and;

      2. That a substantial number of those who lead the AGW movement, don’t follow the restrictions on living which they preach to everyone else.

Now I realise that you would have been able to resort to your dogmatic and automatic responce had you relayed that quote in context, but unfortunately for you, that’s the burden of the effective writer.

Um, didn’t you post a while back that you sweep floors for a living? By your standard you shouldn’t even be reading this thread.

“Science is not for everyone, especially the politically minded.”

So, why don’t you tell us in your own words how the greenhouse effect works? Explain what percentage of the atmospheric CO2 content is put out by Mankind? Explain why this warm period is different from every other warm period over the last 4 billion years? Explain what caused the last glacial period to end?

Oh, and I wasn’t criticizing Chu, I was making fun of you unhinged Warmists. But, you still haven’t been able to substantively and cogently rebut my post, or any of my AGW posts. You come on and throw out personal slurs, so, to quote Cheeze Whiz

      Oh, and what Martin wrote.

Joe? Hello? You going to answer with some science? Hello?

It’s times like this that I am glad I am a teacher.  I give the kids the OTHER side of the story and let them make their own decisions.

We need more sane teachers.   Keep up the good work.
