Hollywood ‘Comedian’ Calls for Assassination of Sarah Palin

Jeff Poor at the Daily Caller has a disturbing story this week. It’s all about a so-called Hollywood comedian telling a talk show audience that he would assassinate Sarah Palin were she to become President of the United States. He wasn’t being “funny” either, was he? After all, those Hollywierders that blamed the right for a “culture of violent rhetoric” said this sort of talk was a “serious” threat to the country. Right?

Christopher Titus appeared on the Adam Corolla show when a discussion of Palin was started. Here was the “humor” he offered:

“You know what man? I am going to literally — if she gets elected president, I am going to hang out on the grassy knoll all the time, just loaded and ready — because you know what? It’s for my country. It’s for my country. If I got to sacrifice myself, it’s for my country.”

Now, let’s harken back to 2009 when the left went wild over the “cross hairs” graphic that Palin used on her website to target at risk Democrats during the then upcoming 2010 midterm elections. The far left website Gawker, for instance, was ready to bring Palin up on charges for using the common symbol on a campaign map. And that was just an image on a campaign website! They weren’t the only ones, either. The charge was everywhere.

In fact, the left spent the whole of the spring and summer of 2010 attacking every vestige of the right for it’s “inciting violence” and its “violent rhetoric.” It was the left’s talking point du jour last year that any rhetoric that evoked even the slightest possible allusion to violence was somehow destroying our political discourse. It was proof, the left said, of the evil, base nature of conservatives and Republicans.

Oh, the humanities.

So, where are the same nattering nabobs of negativity to scold this purported comic when he said that he’d assassinate a President Sarah Palin?

Crickets. Hypocritical crickets.

What a shame. His stand up comedy special “Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding” is one of my favorite bits of stand-up of all time (you just thought your family was dysfunctional). It wasn’t political at all. Looks like his upcoming comedy show is going to be very poliitical, so this is probably a publicity stunt. Guess I won’t be watching it.

I don’t stalk anyone, Pinko. If Vega wants to be a pissy little bitch and not respond to me, I will accept the power he has given me over him and smile. If you notice, I have not changed my posting habits, but he has changed his because of me.

The post of his I refer to is his contention that Fred Phelps of the Westboro idiots should have his knees broken to shut him and his clan up. It was not the only time Vega has advocated violence to counter speech he dislikes.

It is of interest how you can manage to lecture us on civility when someone on the Right strays, yet you seem to conveniently seem to be absent when the Left does the same.

I simply stated Phelps deserves to get his knees broken and it would solve the problem.

It’s got nothing to do with speech. What he does is harassment and stalking. He could preach all day from his pulpit if he likes.

Once he targets a funeral and victimizing people, thereby infringing on their rights, he should be held to task.

I am not saying someone should do it, or that I would do it, but it would solve the problem.

I am aware that certain death threats are illegal, though. I don’t know if threats against a hypothetical future political leader are included. I would suspect that they are not.

Liberals never tired of calling for Bush’s assassination. Alec Baldwin advocated dragging a politician out into the street with his family and killing them, and he demanded it on national television to the riotous applause of the audience.

Yeah, I know that one. Memorial Day weekend, I went to a theater festival in Manhattan with the wife. One of the acts was this over-the-hill harridan mindlessly prattling a hate-filled rant of anything to the right of Pol Pot in the tone reminiscent of a bad satire on the beat poets. My wife’s politics run decidedly more liberal than mine, but even she thought this woman was a complete waste of time and space. The thing is the audience was giving its approval to this “performance artist”. I started heckling her, but the wife has a relationship with the theater and asked me to stop before I was heard.

Not to defend Titus, because it was a joke (a lame one at that), but he is judging Palin using the distorted lens of main stream media. Half-truths and distorted half-hearted retractions when found wrong lead to a pretty poor image of anyone CNN hates. Same goes for the Tea Parties. Most people that hate them have a really distorted view of them because the view comes from the Main Stream Media. It’s really sad.
