House Tells Joe Wilson He’s A Bad Boy, No Biscuit!
Written By : William Teach

Because they have absolutely nothing better to do

The final vote tally was 240-179, with 7 Republicans siding with Democrats on the resolution to condemn Wilson, and 12 Democrats voting with Republicans against it. Five Democrats voted “present.”

Here are the 7 Republicans that voted with the Democrats in favor the resolution:

Rep. Anh Cao [R, LA-2]
Rep. Jo Ann Emerson [R, MO-8]
Rep. Jeff Flake [R, AZ-6] (this one is very disappointing to me)
Rep. Bob Inglis [R, SC-4]
Rep. Walter Jones [R, NC-3]
Rep. Thomas Petri [R, WI-6]
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher [R, CA-46] (this one is very disappointing to me)

Here are the 12 Democrats who voted against it:

Rep. Michael Arcuri [D, NY-24]
Rep. William Delahunt [D, MA-10]
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords [D, AZ-8]
Rep. Maurice Hinchey [D, NY-22]
Rep. Dennis Kucinich [D, OH-10]
Rep. Daniel Maffei [D, NY-25]
Rep. Eric Massa [D, NY-29]
Rep. James McDermott [D, WA-7]
Rep. Gwen Moore [D, WI-4]
Rep. Gene Taylor [D, MS-4]
Rep. Harry Teague [D, NM-2]

No mention if the House will vote to withhold biscuits from tax cheat Charlie Rangle anytime soon.

(FYI: If McQ updates his post about the vote, I am going to pull this one)

At last! civility and decorum will be restored to that hallowed hall by the swift and just punishment of that uncouth villain Joe Wilson. May the great work of the House to establish health care for all and other noble causes carry forth unimpeded by such scandalous affairs.

I guess we should waste a lot of time and go through each of the fools that said bush was a lier and booed at him during his state of the union.

No no, that is ancient history, the Dems are just making sure there will be civility on the House floor from this point on /sarc off

Give the 7 Republicans and 12 Democrats a pat on the back for having the courage to stand up against their leadership. Even Joe Wilson buckled under that pressure when he was directed by the GOP leadership to apologize to Obama for his rude outburst.

What Rep Wilson did was tell the truth and stand up against tyranny and constant lies by Odrama. The failure of ALL congressmen to support him is their shame.

  • Bill_Dalasio

Well, hats off to Dennis Kucinich and Jim McDermott, of all people, for showing a little integrity.

LOL – But not quite right. There's a time limit on this civility. The rules will be repealed the moment the next republican becomes president!

Ha, ha! Good one! You Joker, you!!!

I noticed the upshot of all this is that the Democrats have decided to abolish Freedom of Speech on the floor of the House, of all places. The Fascistic Tendendencies of the Liberal Party proceed afoot…

Oh, and by the way – just so we understand how much credibility Liberals have on this issue – here's a blast from the recent past:

"He LIED to this Country! He played on our fears!"

    - Algore.

  • Mike_M

"Well, hats off to Dennis Kucinich and Jim McDermott, of all people, for showing a little integrity."

Barney Frank (of all people) too. He was quoted in a lot of articles saying something to the effect of Congress has better things to do than decide who acted like a jerk.

I'm surprised that the trolls haven't tried to twist this thread's title into a racial issue. I'm sure they'll try to relate "biscuit" to some racist issue.

I remember when Al Gore was compared to a watermelon on this site: green on the outside red on the inside. That brought out the racist leftists big time.

Your dad told you to tell the truth so tell it now. We're waiting.

Dems have been breaking rules, and laws, and ignoring COTUS for the last 70 years, and this what it takes to lose ALL CREDIBILITY???

Give us all a F'N break.

  • Bill_Dalasio

crthns/whats_up/whatever you're calling yourself this week,

Of course the problem with your argument is that a central point of the conservative critique has been that nonenforcement of a rules renders those rules invalid. In this case, the rules of Congressional decorum have remained unenforced time

    and time again

A rule that is only selectively enforced to the benefit of one side of a debate ceases to be an instrument of civilization and simply becomes a charletan's play on words. To pursue a punishment of Mr. Wilson after conspicuously overlooking comparable or worse lapses on the other side is not an enforcement of rules but a desecration of them.

Yeah, except when liberals do it, then it's acceptable.

Wait, I know you're excuse now. You'll claim that Pete Stark didn't call Bush a liar during a joint session of Congress so it's completely different.

    Fucking asshole. Defeated again.

  • http://Kingfisher Kingfisher

Since you're going to piss and moan, w_u, here it is:

The Republicans are worried that we can't pay for insuring an additional 10 million children. They sure don't care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where you going to get that money. You gonna tell us lies like you're telling us today? Is that how you're going to fund the war. You don't have enough money to fund the war or children. But you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President's amusement…

…But the President Bush’s statements about children’s health shouldn’t be taken any more seriously than his lies about the war in Iraq. The truth is that Bush just likes to blow things up in Iraq, in the United States, and in Congress.

    (Video included)

Now go ahead and spin this. Let's read your excuses this time.

  • http://Kingfisher Kingfisher

You don't have enough money to fund the war or children.

Interesting how Pete Stark made that claim but now, all of a sudden, we DO have enough money to fund the war and to help children.

Why is that, w_u, other than printing money?

    Bill,

No doubt that is true, and I have no defense of Rep Stark and his words, he should have been called on the carpet for it. As for the boos towards the President, two things, Conservatives were in charge in 2005, they certianly could have taken Liberals to task for that, however they understood that booing the President at the State of the Union is not a breaking of decorum rules, that doesnt excuse the behavior, and perhaps it should be, but right now and since this country was founded it hasnt been.

Big frickin' deal. I'm glad Wilson called Obama a liar because Obama is a liar. Wilson is making national headlines and Obama is running away with his tail tucked between his legs.

At first, I opposed Wilson apologizing but now am happy he did so to show the utter hatred that the Democrats have for the Republicans. Obama accepted the apology so that should have been over but the disgusting attitude of the Dems is to constantly punish the Republicans simply for political purposes. "Working together," yeah right. The Dems are only angry because Wilson called Obama a word that is correct.

Show us where the KKK is riding now that Wilson called Obama a liar, w_u.

I wonder why you liberals are so accepting of this huge show of disrespect toward Obama by the House?

After all, Obama accepted Wilson's apology. So why are the House Dems questioning the judgement of Obama by continuing to press the issue and play the race card? Isn't Obama capable of determining whether or not he was attacked in a racial manner? If he thought there were racial overtones to Wilson's outburst, surely he wouldn't have accepted an apology that made no reference to it.

I mean, like Obama needs his judgement questioned any more after the Van Jones fiasco in addition to the rest of his failed Cabinet nominees. You guys should show him more respect.

But hoggo brings back such fond memories of the late '70's and into the '80's when I cut my debate teeth, first on those old dial-up BBS's, then on Usenet. I was around for the legendary Usenet Great Flame War and learned loads from people I considered masters of sarcastic prose.
