Jimmy Carter Pops Up And Blames Israel Over Iran

I thought Groundhog Day was last month. But, I guess any discussion regarding Israel defending itself wouldn’t be complete without the input of a miserable failure at being POTUS, and a rabid anti-Semite

(Washington Times) Former President Jimmy Carter expressed concerns Tuesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may be too willing to go to war with Iran.

“I don’t think that’s his first preference, but I think he’s much more eager to go to war with Iran than President Obama [is]. And I was glad to see President Obama discourage that immediate resumption of hostilities between Israel and its neighbors that the Israelis seem to be inclined to do,” the former president said in an interview with The Washington Times-affiliated “America’s Morning News” radio broadcast.

See? It’s all Israel’s fault, a notion I’m quite sure most Liberals agree with. Because those Iranian Mullahs and leaders like Ahmadinejad are so trustworthy as to be allowed to complete their nuclear weapons program. It’s not like they’ve said multiple times that they want to see Israel wiped off the map or something.

“I think the economic sanctions would be adequate,” Mr. Carter added. “War with Iran can and should be avoided.”

Yes, war with Iran should be avoided if possible. But, Iran is attempting to become a nuclear weapons nation. And sanctions haven’t worked. They haven’t worked regarding their nuclear program, and they didn’t work when Iranians attacked the US embassy in Tehran (an act of war according to the Geneva Convention), taking Americans hostage, and Carter imposed them. And then did pretty much nothing else. There was no threat of war, allowing this Islamic fundamentalist state to rise and become the largest supporter of terrorism. But, there have been sanctions ever since. How’s that worked out, Mr. Carter?

Mr. Carter said he has met recently with the Muslim Brotherhood’s political and religious leadership, and “they know it’s very important to Egypt to maintain peace with Israel.”

“They assured me personally – and they have made public statements accordingly – that they will honor the peace treaty that I helped to negotiate back in 1979 … and I don’t have any doubt that they will carry out their promise to me.”

Was that assurance given before or after the Muslim Brotherhood threatened to review the peace treaty mid-February? But, then, I’m sure the Muslim Brotherhood is smart enough to understand that Carter is an idiot, anti-Israel, and a dupe, and will believe whatever they tell him.
