Kamikaze Attack on Our Healthcare System Is Still On
Written By : Dave Blount

In case anyone was under the misperception that Hopey Change has anything whatsoever to do with the consent of the governed, the moonbats controlling Washington are still trying to ram through ObamaCare, despite massive public resistance:

A mere three days before President Obama’s supposedly bipartisan health-care summit, the White House yesterday released a new blueprint that Democrats say they will ram through Congress with or without Republican support. So after election defeats in Virginia, New Jersey and even Massachusetts, and amid overwhelming public opposition, Democrats have decided to give the voters what they don’t want anyway.

Ah, the glory of “progressive” governance and democratic consent.

“The President’s Proposal,” as the 11-page White House document is headlined, is in one sense a notable achievement: It manages to take the worst of both the House and Senate bills and combine them into something more destructive. It includes more taxes, more subsidies and even less cost control than the Senate bill. And it purports to fix the special-interest favors in the Senate bill not by eliminating them — but by expanding them to everyone.

How could we possibly afford that with the economy already staggering under the burden of government debt? We can’t, as Democrats well know.

Some explain the Dems’ unconscionably irresponsible behavior as intergenerational theft, assuming our children and grandchildren will pick up the bill. Others refer to the Cloward-Piven strategy, the objective of which is to enable a great leap forward into coercive collectivism by causing our system to collapse under the weight of entitlement spending. Given Comrade Obama’s radical background, the latter explanation is probably more accurate.

The reason Dems are willing to vote themselves out of office over healthcare is that once socialized medicine has been passed, it cannot be repealed. If ObamaCare is rammed through, America will never recover from it, just as it never recovered from the disastrous programs imposed by FDR, which continue to bleed us toward eventual bankruptcy to this day.

The difference is, the crop of socialists now in the White House don’t have the patience to wait for America to bleed to death gradually. That’s why Obama et al. are slashing open arteries left and farther left to make the red ink flow. Once it becomes clear that the debt can never be repaid, our currency collapses, and our savings become worthless, our helplessness will clear the path for Fundamental Change.

Can any of the Liberals that post on this board explain to us why you support ObamaCare? I simply cannot understand it.

Why cannot a “new” Congress “undo” what Obama hath wrought?

Its important that leaders be free to do things which are unpopular yet right and necessary, even in a representative democracy such as the United States. However, this is a really bad idea and the nation has made it very clear that it is not just unwanted but unnecessary.

“Why cannot a “new” Congress “undo” what Obama hath wrought?”

There are a number of ways which the current administration can use to minimise the chance of that happening.

One strategy is to place one or more ‘poison pill’ clauses in the bill which cause very unwanted/undesirable funding or structural changes to other programmes if the health care package is later repealed. Sort of in the same spirit of those ‘poison pill’ clauses in hostile takeover situations which mandate changes in stock price/availability or award the top five execs 50% of the company’s liquid assets as parting gifts, etc.

Another strategy to keep the bill alive is to make sure it contains at least one provision which provides immediate action for some group of voters, preferably very vocal voters. Think about the Medicare Part D which Bush rammed down our throats. Because seniors are outspoken and they vote in high numbers, I can’t imagine any politician who’s not a lame duck wanting to vote for taking their Part D away.

Keep in mind that the latest version of the Health Care Package is up to 2700 pages, meaning that understanding it all and understanding how all the provisions interact is still very much in question. Given the legislative history of the bill and the actual personalities involved in creating and moving this package through the legislative process, I believe it’s a safe assumption that there is at least one ‘poison pills’ built into this monstrosity.

This is exactly why it’s so dangerous for Congress to vote on legislation which has not been thoroughly vetted through open, transparent debate and adequate time to read, understand and cost out all of provisions. In my estimation, when either House is voting on a bill which most of its members haven’t read fully, they’re guilty of legislative malpractice and there should be legal consequences.

Can we all stop asking dumb questions about the “HC Deform” power grab – I mean stuff like “Gee, why are the D pushing ahead – the polls show they will get clocked in NOV 10?”

This is a huge ideological push and a long term politcal power grab….

Politcally speaking, its designed to wipe the Republican party and consertism as we know it off the map – it will be swept away in a sea of dependency and govt employment…..

Socially, this is to push a far left Utopian social order….

Likewise, lets put away the “repeal it” or “defund it” fantasy too…..

Even the biggest of election wins in NOV 10 will not be enough to undo this….

Plus, its phased in where people will see little disruption in their personl HC situation until its too late to tear down the struture (ie 2014 and beyond) – by the time people start to feel the effects of govt run HC, the political entrenchment of the 100 new agencies and millions of new govt employees plus the funding/subsidies of pharma, health insurance, etc will be too much intertia to overcome….

At least historically speaking, in the US and ANY western-style democracy, no major entitlement program has been cast aside once in place and dependency starts to set in…..any thing is possible however the odds would be hugely against repealing or even substatially modifying it once in place….

No, our best odds are to defeat it now before it gets in place….

The leftist/Democrat leadership has already decided that the long term politcal gain is worth the short term hit – NOV 10 will be likely the last major win for the R party and true conservatism….

The Democrats have seen how govt HC changes the relationship of the citizen to the state in a way that makes people much more maliable to big government/intervention ideology and “solutions”….

Essentially in the UK, Canada, etc their is NO conservative party in the sense that we have – they are all RINO-like parties that dont question the big govt/nanny state, government intervention in every aspect of life, or that the state knows best and has an obligation to tell people how to live. No the euro “conservative” parties essentially make the claim they can run the nanny state in a more business like and “fiscally responsible” manner – ie big govt thats paid for.

Dont kid yourself, if this so-called Democratic “HC Deform” is passed it will be huge, transformational, and permeant (until perhaps a USSR like total social collapse)…..

Everybody better gear up for CrappyCare round two and treat it as the battle for national and politcal survival like it is…..

Currently, it seems that far too many are “ho-hum” about the possiblities of the Cramdown proceeding or are solely focuse on short term electorial implications for this fall….

We are only 24 hour notice away from a house CrappyCare vote – which I fear will be called after the leftist/nutroot bases has seen enough politcal bluster about “obstrunism” and “recon” and the “govt option” to appease them into think every option was taken to get them the
    fully monty” they wanted….

Everyone in the Obama WH and the D leadership know that the Senate bill will be plenty fine for now….its a govt takeover in every way that matters…..
