Our Current Government: A Bunch of Radicalized Slackers

The only thing worse than a hipster slacker, is a radicalized hipster slacker. That, however, is exactly what the Obama administration and the current Democrats in Congress are. Witness the slacker promotion of Nancy Pelosi at work:

“We see it as an entrepreneurial bill,” Pelosi said, “a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care.”

Our current leaders have apparently given up their “laser like focus” on creating or saving jobs. That hasn’t been working out so well for them, being completely ignorant in the ways of business. Instead, they now appear to be focused on creating or saving a whole bunch of slackers. This is not the first time Pelosi has said it either. She uttered much the same drivel back in March, prior to the passage of the health care bill that had to be passed before we could see what’s in it:

“Think of an economy where people could be an artist or a photographer or a writer without worrying about keeping their day job in order to have health insurance.”

That’s right. Working is for stuffy old fuddy-duddies and inartistic Philistines. Plus, the kids these days don’t know how to protest; we need more drum circles, man.

I couldn’t put my finger on exactly why this irked me so much. I mean, even more so than usual. I knew it couldn’t just be the putrid stench of entitlement mentality emanating from Pelosi, although that was, of course, a major part of it.:  I finally realized what it was;:  it reminds me of the tree squatters at Berkeley. College kids, full of smug â„¢, who think they are so much better and smarter than you, all while mooching off of their parents and bringing their laundry home for mommy to do.

The recent vile and infuriating apology to China — CHINA, of all places — for Arizona’s new immigration law fits much the same mold. Jay Nordlinger, of National Review Online, had a similar thought:

I hope I have read that incorrectly, or am interpreting it incorrectly. Did we, the United States, talking to a government that maintains a gulag, that denies people their basic rights, that in all probability harvests organs, apologize for the new immigration law in Arizona? Really, really? …

Do you ever get the idea that our government is a bunch of left-wing undergraduates come to power?

Yes. Because that is exactly what they are.

Obama is just like the new breed of hipsters who are on food stamps so they can shop at the oh-so-hip Whole Foods. Arugula is a right! And have you seen the price of it? No wonder they have made 26 year old adults comparable to children, who must remain on their parents’ insurance policies. They are still children. Left wing radical children, but children nonetheless. It’s mean to expect people to act like adults and work for things! Obama, and his administration, have persisted in that left-wing undergraduate vein, only they are dangerously now in power.

What Pelosi said above, what Obama himself said last month about “at a certain point, you’ve made enough money“, as well as the grossly loathsome apology to China epitomizes what Obama and his administration honestly believe. They revere their left-wing heroes, all the while sneering at the silly, lesser people who believe in freedom and running their own lives. Like all smug left-wing college students, they know better, you see!:  They know theories. And art and stuff.

They’ll all sit around and call for a Summit at a coffee shop (with soy milk, natch) to contemplate the best way, in theory only, as that is all that they know, to build a ditch. Meanwhile, the regular people at whom they look down their noses will simply go to the hardware store, buy a few shovels (on sale) and start digging.

Having never worked a day in the private sector in their lives, and having rarely ventured out of their Ivory towers, they can only manage to fake putting on big boy pants. They dress up in their big boy and girl clothes, yet all the while they are wishing that they were made of hemp and they are rushing to change into their Che T-shirts when they get home.

They’re all a bunch of kids from the suburbs who I like to point and snicker at, giggling madly at their “edgy” angst over which iPod skin they should use today. Decisions are hard! Or, in Obama’s case, which speeches of himself he should put on his super cool iPod gifts to World Leaders, before bowing to them.

They are radical left-wing undergraduates. Only, they never had to grow up and, thus, they still believe in the radical (and slacker promoting) agenda, which is antithetical to the core beliefs of this nation. Thus, their affinity for bashing this nation and apologizing for it.:  The problem is, they somehow managed to gain power, to our, and the entire world’s, great detriment and harm.

So, we must do the same thing we do with college kids who are overly smug, charging up credit cards they have no way of paying and infringing on everyone else’s rights with their entitlement mentality. Don’t allow them to pull the childish “la la la, I can’t hear you” game, like they are doing with the AZ bill, for instance, as evidenced by the fact that they refuse to even read the 16 page bill.:  Cut up their figurative credit cards. And tell them to get the hell off:  our lawn, figuratively now and literally when we can in November.

Then, let the grown ups fix things, as usual.
