Punish Joe Wilson Or KKK Will Ride Again!
Written By : McQ

You would think the Democrats would learn, but that seems to be something to which they’re immune. I’ve come to believe that overreaching is in their DNA.

As you know, they’ve tried everything they know to do to capitalize on the fact that Joe Wilson yelled “you lie” at Barack Obama during his speech before Congress last week. It was inappropriate. Everyone agrees. Wilson said so in his apology to President Obama. President Obama graciously accepted his apology.

End of story?

Of course not. The 5th graders who inhabit our Congress (and that’s true of both sides, but in this case it is decidedly about the Democrats) have decided that isn’t enough. So they’re now embroiled in a fight to pass a “resolution of disapproval” in the House because Wilson is of the opinion the apology he issued immediately after the event to the president was sufficient and he’s not about to repeat it on the floor of the House.

Not good enough, the Dems say. And to add fuel to the fire, we get this dopey statement from Georgia’s own Hank Johnson, who I once thought was a fairly sane replacement for Cynthia McKinney:

Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst last week is drawing new recriminations from his colleagues, with a member of the Congressional Black Caucus suggesting that a failure to rebuke Wilson is tantamount to supporting the most blatant form of organized racism in American history.

In an obvious reference to the KKK, Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., said Tuesday that people will put on “white hoods and ride through the countryside” if emerging racist attitudes, which he says were subtly supported by Wilson, are not rebuked. He said Wilson must be disciplined as an example.

Ride through the countryside with white hoods? Good lord. The race card is again played – and badly.

Maybe it’s the water in the district, but he’s sounds as batty as McKinney right now. “White hoods” indeed.

If the dems try to pass anything regarding Joe Wilson, the republicans should simply boycott the event – simply walk out and don't take part. That would do more than anything to highlight the pure partisan nature of this thing.

This idiotic statement doesn't just smack of desperation, it positively reeks of it.

Wow. Just wow. I think that when all the ruling party is left with is the endlessly repeated refrain "that's racist", I think we've reached the point at which it's clear that they're running on empty as far as legitimate debate goes. Of course, it would go a long, long, long way to clear some of the racial bickering out of the way, if Mr. Obama, the poster child for post-racial America, would stand up and issue a strong unequivocal statement to the effect that we'll never rise above the racial fray if every time someone's feelings are hurt, they cry racism. If there are remnants and pockets of institutional racism left, let's deal with them calmly and collaboratively. But this sort of thing has just got to stop.

Proven once again: The definition of a "racist" is anybody winning an argument with a liberal.

So much for Obama bringing everybody together.

This should help Wilson's political contributions.

Isn't Byrd still in the Senate? Do the collectivists see the irony of implying all those that do not bow to them and their false god are racists when they have a real KKK big shot representing them?

I guess the intended "learning moment" is that anyone that dares tell the truth about the emperor without clothes and the court of fools surrounding, him will be tarred and feathered.

Wilson must be made to pay! And by people that did far worse than Wilson ever did for some 8 years. This is deflection from the real problems. Bread and circuses for the red meat wanting moonbats. Let them do it. With their government trying to take over and destroy healthcare, their criminal syndicates getting exposed, their hands wrecking the economy, and much more damage being done to the country, they are just digging their own graves.

Looks like the vote went through, 240-179 (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/09/15/house-disciplines-wilson-outburst/)

Searching for the breakdown of the vote now.

Gee, when Clinton was pushing his HillaryCare thingie, all the Republicans were on board. Now they are not, so the obvious reason is the race of the President.

    What? They weren't? They didn't? Oh…well…um…

Well, it was sexism! They hated Hill! Sexist racists!

  • Rickvid_in_Seattle

I wonder if Rep. Johnson, to whom I sent money to defeat that racist nutball, will have the stones to go up to Col. Wilsons' face and tell him that he will be responsible for the rise of the Klan? I certainly doubt it.

Today, speaking in front of the AFL-CIO Obama said:

"That's why we acted boldly and swiftly to pass an unprecedented economic Recovery Act. It's a plan that didn't include any of the usual Washington earmarks or pork-barrel spending. But what it did include was a guarantee to uphold Davis Bacon and pay prevailing wages."

From one, of many newspaper stories on the subject:

    Obama signs earmark-laden spending bill

I wonder what the Democrats would call this…?

While speaking before a large ALF-CIO audience today Obama said:

Text of speech to the AFL-CIO

    And let's not forget…

    Obama signs earmark-laden spending bill

    Obama signs stimulus

Wonder what the Democrats would call this?

    … sorry about the links

Wilson paid as much for telling the truth at a liberal's face as Clinton paid for lying under oath. That's all that needs to be said, really.

  • CoolCzech

I think we need to do a White Sheet Intervention at Robert KKK Byrd's house tonight… let's take his sheets away before he rides again!

  • rjtay398

Well – based on this, I just sent him a 100 dollar contribution. Hope that is what they intended with the vote….

  • SabianKinslow

And I am saddened by Jeff Flake – 6th AZ joining the Democrats is what was nothing more than a political stunt. I hope he got some nice consessions for his vote. If congress does not wish to be a check and balance against the President and the Supreme Court they need to be replaced with a group of people who will do the job. Wilson appoligized, 0bama accepted, end of story but yet I thinik this one will never end. Wilson does not have the magic "get out of jail free" card with the great big "D" on it.
