Sebelius Plays Blame Game With Obamacare Website Failures

We shouldn’t be surprised in the least. Remember, Kathleen Sebelius was a governor who played petty political games[1] after the devastating Greensburg, Kansas tornado. Now, Democrats and Team Obama are attempting to get their talking points together so as to magically Blame Republicans for the failure of the Obamacare rollout

(Fox News[2]) Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius took a swipe Friday at those calling for her to resign over the botched ObamaCare website rollout, suggesting that Republican efforts to delay and defund the law contributed to HealthCare.gov’s glitch-ridden debut.

During a visit to a community health center in Austin, Sebelius conceded that there wasn’t enough testing done on the website, but added that her department had little flexibility to postpone the launch against the backdrop of Washington’s unforgiving politics.

“In an ideal world there would have been a lot more testing, but we did not have the luxury of that. And the law said the go-time was Oct. 1,” she said. “And frankly, a political atmosphere where the majority party, at least in the House, was determined to stop this anyway they possibly could … was not an ideal atmosphere.”

I wonder if she witnessed all the “glitches” hitting O-care paper and phone applications[3] while she campaigned instead of testifying before Congress? One would think that with all the calls to repeal O-care, delay it, defund, replace it, Sebelius would have made damned sure that the websites would work perfectly, particularly since she had 3 years to get ‘er done.

Meanwhile, with an ever growing number of Democrats calling for a slight delay to a full year delay of the individual mandate, the Washington Post editorial board[4] says this would be a Bad Idea. I wonder when they will trot out an editorial noting that delaying the employer mandate is a bad idea? And what of all the waivers?

Michelle Obama[5] whined about Republicans in defending O-care

“When a small group of folks in Congress shuts down our government to try to shut down Obamacare, and we watch as our President stands strong, that’s not just some political fight in Washington – it is a battle about our most fundamental values and aspirations,” the first lady told the audience at the Women’s Leadership Forum Conference in Washington, D.C.

The last place where Barack Obama should be discussed is a “leadership forum”. Unless he’s the subject of What Not To Do. But, you know, “fundamental values and aspirations”. Perhaps Michell could explain that to all those who’ve seen their health insurance cancelled thanks to her husband.

Unshockingly, she was there to raise money for Democrats. Everyone should ask her[6] when she and Barack will obtain insurance for themselves and kids through the exchange.
