Snap! Being Forced To Purchase Health Insurance Like Buying A TV
Written By : William Teach

I wasn’t aware of the law that Americans are required to purchase TVs simply for being alive, but, we are talking about Kathleen Sebelius’ World, who seems to be channeling her inner Joe Biden

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius defended the new health care law’s mandate requiring people to purchase insurance, comparing the buying of health insurance to buying televisions.

People access health care regardless of whether they have insurance, said Sebelius on Friday. “What they’re choosing not to do is actually pay for those services,” she said.

“[I]f I don’t have a 27-inch TV for the Super Bowl, I can’t demand on the day of the Super Bowl that somebody deliver that TV because I have a right to it. On the other hand, if I don’t have insurance, I come through the door of an emergency room and get treated and get cared for, and somebody else picks up the tab,” said Sebelius.

Except, now the law makes it so that if you get sick, you can purchase health insurance right before going into the hospital, and cannot be denied that purchase, so that the insurance company can pick up a tab. Come 2014, provided the law is not erased, you will be required to “purchase a TV to watch the Super Bowl”, ie, health insurance, simply for being an American.

Sebelius said that while she was not a lawyer, she believed the Commerce Clause gave Congress the authority to mandate people buy health insurance – before she employed the television example.

“I’m not a lawyer, and I’m leaving those arguments to our legal team from the Department of Justice,” said Sebelius. “But I think there are certainly lots of talented constitutional lawyers who feel that the Commerce Clause very much is broad enough to cover the interstate commerce of health care.”

Except, the commerce clause is relevant to commerce across State lines. Her TV analogy might, might, stand up if people were crossing State lines to go to an emergency room, yet, wasn’t it a Democrat Congress which mandated that one cannot purchase health insurance from a different State?

Elsewhere, The Politico fact checks the whole “will insurance rates fall because of Obamacare?” thing, and finds that Obama only “stretched” the truth.

Yeah, Sebelius isn’t a lawyer. Nor a doctor. In fact her undergrad and graduate degrees are in Political Science and Public Administration. Aside from a stint as a lobbyist for a trial lawyer’s association, she has no education or experience in anything except government bureaucracy.

And Obama chose her to run Obamacare.

everyone else in the bumblers admin is an incompetent bureaucrat, why should his health and human services secretary be any different?

So we need a new law to compensate for the effects of an old law?

“But I think there are certainly lots of talented constitutional lawyers who feel that the Commerce Clause very much is broad enough to cover the interstate commerce of health care.”

That statement is true. No doubt there are many lawyers who ‘feel’ the the Commerce clause is broad enough for anything.

    That’s called job security.

Just like there are many criminals who ‘feel’ the 2nd amendment shouldn’t apply to law abiding folks.

Kathleen Sebelius – hussein’s SECOND TAX CHEAT candidate for HHS secretary – used undocumented, phony deductions to cheat the federal government out of more than $7000 over three years.

She LIED repeatedly to the IRS!!! Do you actually expect she’ll tell the truth to the American people?????
