STUDY: The Most Liberals Cities Are The Worst Places to Retire To

A new study by WalletHub.com finds that retiring couples should avoid choosing all the nation’s most liberal cities and liberal states in which to retire if they want to live out their golden years in comfort and grace.

The website looked at the nation’s big cities and found some of the worst places to retire to. But a side effect of the study shows that the more blue a state is politically the worse it is for retirees.

WalletHub found that the top ten worst cities to retire to are:

142 Worcester, MA
143 Boston, MA
144 Chicago, IL
145 Yonkers, NY
146 New York, NY
147 Aurora, IL
148 Providence, RI
149 Jersey City, NJ
150 Newark, NJ

And the top ten best cities for retirees are:

1 Detroit, MI
2 Scottsdale, AZ
3 Boise City, ID
4 Cape Coral, FL
5 Orlando, FL
6 Sioux Falls, SD
7 Baton Rouge, LA
8 Port St. Lucie, FL
9 Overland Park, KS
10 Peoria, AZ

It is interesting to note that of the top city, Detroit, while it is still horribly liberal, it is in a state that has been turning Republican of late and is also a city that has begun to reverse some of its worst liberal economic decisions because it has reached rock bottom due to decades of failed liberal policies.
