Traitors: American Journalists Attack Koch Brothers, Support Al Jazeera
There is a confluence of events over the last few weeks that perfectly proves the essential anti-Americanism of the Old Media establishment in this country today. It is evinced in two separate stories, one wheret the left is excoriating the Koch brothers for wanting to buy the L.A. Times and a contrasting story where journalists are falling all over themselves to get hired by the new news network being started by Al Jazeera, the jihad-supporting, anti-American, Muslim-owned news agency.
At the end of April, stories began to emerge that conservative brothers David and Charles Koch might be interesting in buying a newspaper such as the Los Angeles Times in an effort to enlarge their media presence. This news sent the Old Media establishment into conniption fits.
The billionaire Koch brothers are libertarian leaning and have used their money to fund many conservative causes. They were, for instance, a big part of forming the activist group Americans for Prosperity among others.
Almost instantly reports came out that “half the staff” of the Times vowed to quit their jobs if the Kochs were allowed to buy the paper. Quickly on the heels of that news, the newspaper union put out a statement saying that the Kochs are unfit to own a newspaper.
Even Los Angeles politicians were jumping the Koch haters bandwagon. Several L.A. councilmen weighed in attempting to prevent any possible sale of the paper to the conservative duo.
So, a pair of Americans who want to buy a newspaper are finding the entire media establishment rising up to attack them and to try and prevent any such sale. Worse, the media’s lapdog politicians are joining the effort by illicitly trying to use their influence in government to put a stop to a perfectly legitimate sale.
All this because these left-wingers are afraid that traditional American ideals might find a megaphone with which to be promulgated.
Then there is a contrasting story that further cements the essential truth that liberals hate other Americans and traditional American ideals more than they do actual, avowed enemies of this country.
In December of 2012, so-called green guru Al Gore suddenly announced that he had sold his Current TV cable network to the oil-rich owners of Al Jazeera, the jihad-supporting, anti-Semitic, anti-American news network based in the Muslim country of Qatar.
Not only was there no real criticism of Al Jazeera having a presence on American cable TV, now the jihadis are announcing that they intend to hire “800 American journalists” and media professionals and the industry is falling all over itself to jump on board with the anti-American cable network.
In fact, the sycophancy is so deep that the Medill School of Journalism in Chicago is offering an internship program with Al Jazeera in the Qatari capital of Doha and have made plans to do the same at the new Al Jazeera America offices once they are up and running.
To date, two high profile lefties have been hired by Al Jazeera America, too. Well-known leftie feminist Naomi Wolf was one of the first to be announced. This is particularly galling in that Islam is one of the worst oppressors of women in the world today and yet a feminist has decided to trade in her principles for a pile of blood-soaked oil money.
Another big hire for Al Jazeera America is CNN’s chief financial reporter Ali Velshi.
But notice that there are no great campaigns by journalists or their union to excoriate anyone who would turn traitor to the country and go to work for the anti-American Al Jazeera? Notice that America’s journalists have not asked if the jihad-centric, Muslim-based ideology of Al-Jazeera might affect its coverage? Notice that no great campaigns are being launched to prevent the sale of Current TV to a foreign nation that supports an ideology that has declared war on our country, an ideology that is guilty of murdering thousands of our countrymen right here on our own soil, an ideology that killed one of our ambassadors in Libya only 8 months ago?
Not a peep. Instead, journalism schools and media professionals both are salivating at the idea of being part of the new jihadi network.
So, let’s recap. A pair of Americans that believe in traditional American ideals are a threat to our nation’s journalistic traditions while a foreign “news” agency that operates in service to anti-Americanism and radical Islamic jihad is very worthy of America’s support.
If this doesn’t show the essential anti-Americanness of the U.S. Old MEdia establishment, nothing does.
