DRILL HERE DRILL NOW! Trump to allow oil drilling in nearly all U.S. waters

The Trump administration announced last week that they will allow new offshore oil and gas drilling in nearly all United States waters. That means we can once again produce and use our own oil and gas freely. I consider that very, very good news. Domestic energy exploration is crucial to this country’s long-term economy and national security, so this is a major development that will help realize that need. The plan gives the energy industry broad access to drilling rights in most parts of the outer continental shelf, including Pacific waters near California, Atlantic waters near Maine and the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Bonus… the EPA is wigging out over this. Good times.

This has got to really fry Barack Obama. The plan lifts a ban on drilling that he put in place just before he left office. That ban supposedly protected more than 100 million offshore acres along the Arctic and Eastern Seaboard. What it actually did was strangle our energy production efforts. I would say this is just the beginning of the Trump administration unraveling the environmental restrictions imposed by Obama and his goons.

The drilling proposal comes in the wake of a separate proposal to repeal offshore drilling safety regulations that were put in place after the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil rig disaster, as well as a decision by Congress to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas drilling. “We’re embarking on a new path for energy dominance in America, particularly on offshore,” Ryan Zinke, the Interior Secretary, said Thursday as he unveiled the plan. “This is a clear difference between energy weakness and energy dominance. We are going to become the strongest energy superpower.”

America should be self-sufficient. We should not have to rely on other countries to keep our lights on. The increase in domestic production started in the final year of the Obama administration. But what you don’t hear about is that all the increases took place on private lands where Obama couldn’t find a way to ban it. On federal lands, he refused to grant oil leases and in offshore areas, Obama engaged in massive bans on drilling – particularly in his final year. He was a nightmare when it came to energy. Trump is now repairing the coal industry as well.

Watch for the left to start calling Trump Hitler over this again. He doesn’t care. Trump knows this is the right thing to do and what is best for America. This is not intended to reduce the cost of a gallon of gas in the short term. It’s meant to strengthen the United States as a producer, consumer and exporter of its own petroleum products so we can enjoy the long-term economic benefits of such activity. We are the lone superpower on the planet and we are wealthy and free. It’s ridiculous that we don’t produce our own energy. It took a businessman as President to right the energy sector. As Sarah Palin says, “Drill, baby, drill!”
