Major Changes Coming To Trump White House In 2018 – This Is HUGE!

Expect some major shakeups at the White House in 2018.

Per an Axios report, Johnny DeStefano, a senior administration official, will have greater responsibilities in 2018. DeStefano, will reportedly be charged with overseeing the White House’s political operation as the 2018 midterm elections approach on the horizon. DeStefano is set to take over as Deputy Chief-of-Staff in the new year replacing Rick Dearborn, who is reported to be leaving the White House.

Another big void to fill is the administration’s political operation, currently led by Bill Stepien. Stepien is reportedly on the outs as several failures have occurred under his watch this year, from failure to repeal Obamacare to the doomed candidacy of Roy Moore in Alabama.

Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, reportedly tore into Stepien for the recent GOP fumbles in a meeting regarding the future of the political apparatus of the White House.

“Nobody knows what the f— he’s done or is doing to advance the president’s agenda politically,” an anonymous senior administration official said. “There’s no follow through on initiatives.”

DeStefano is regarded by many to have the political wherewithal that Stepien lacks. He has worked as a senior adviser to John Boehner, former Speaker of the House, and has worked for the Republican National Committee. Hopefully, DeStefano is up to the task of turning the political war in 2018 towards Trump and the Republicans.

The up-and-coming operative is reported to lead the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs. He will manage the political relationship between the White House and other Republican hubs throughout the country such as governors’ offices, state legislatures, mayors offices’ and the like.

He will also be leading the Office of Public Liaison. This office is the White House’s relationship with interest groups and lobbyists. He is also reported to keep his responsibility as overseeing personnel at the White House.

Although this may seem like a lot of responsibility for one person, it seems DeStefano is up to the task. There are many officials in the White House who hope this will right the ship, so to speak. This may also seem like more turbulence for an already turbulent administration, but leadership is the most important factor in determining political outcomes.

The Trump administration has seen a 34 percent turnover rate in the first year, about double of President Reagan’s administration in 1981. Twenty-one of the 61 senior officials tracked by the Brookings Institution have been fired, been reassigned, or have quit. The highest profile of these include Michael Flynn as National Security Adviser, Steve Bannon as Chief Strategist, Reince Priebus as Chief of Staff and Sean Spicer as White House Press Secretary. Not to mention Anthony Scaramucci, who lasted a week as White House Communications Director.
