Report: President Trump Mulls Massive Cabinet And Staff Shake-up

Could Trump be about to make a major move that might include the firing of most of his advisers including Reince Priebus? According to breaking reports, yes.

An article at Axios written by Andrew Harnik seems to suggest that the President is frustrated with his ineffective staff and is considering a massive overhaul that would leave a lot of people in the dust.

“The advice he’s getting is to go big—that he has nothing to lose,” a source told Harnik. “The question now is how big and how bold. I’m not sure he knows the answer to that yet.”

Harnik believes that it is unlikely Trump would replace any of his actual cabinet members, except, perhaps, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, Chief Strategist Steve Bannon and Press Secretary Sean Spicer.

According to the Associated Press, Trump has recently become distrustful of his staff and is relying more on family and long-time aides.

This would certainly explain the increased presence of Ivanka and Jared Kushner in the White House.

I can’t say I blame Trump for being skeptical of his staff, given that one or many of them are leaking information to the press. That being said, I’m not sure a massive shake-up of that nature would be good for him right now. Who would he replace them with that could be any better? Of course he needs people he can trust if he plans to get anything done, but he’s going to take a beating in the media. (Not like that’s any different than normal.)

I am curious to see what Trump plans to do. Will he mass fire his staff and start from scratch? Are Steve Bannon and Reince Priebus about to be handed their walking papers? I guess we are just going to have to wait and see.
