YouTube’s ‘Diamond And Silk’ Believe They Were Demonetized Due To Their Support For Trump

YouTube has begun demonetizing political videos on their platform and pro-Trump content creators “Diamond & Silk” were hit the hardest.

“The Viewer’s View” hosts “Diamond & Silk” were brought to the forefront of the political debate after making a multitude of pro-Trump videos. They were even asked to speak at a rally for the then-Republican candidate. Now, they say, YouTube is lashing out and taking away their source of revenue.

The ladies took to Twitter on August 10th to ask YouTube why they decided to demonetize 95% of their videos, under the claim that they are not “suitable for all advertisers.”

They then asked if they were demonetized because of their support for Trump.

It’s not a secret that companies like Google are taking a very serious bias against anything Trump. That’s why it’s extremely suspect that creators like Diamond and Silk are being discriminated against based on what they think their “advertisers” want. You know what advertisers want? Views. They don’t care where it comes from and if they do, that’s their problem, not the content creators’. YouTube used to be a platform where everyone could share their videos and now people are being told “sure you can share your videos, but you’re not going to be treated the same as everyone else if your videos engage in wrongthink.”

They even hinted at a class-action lawsuit, though not being a lawyer, I don’t necessarily know if this has any legs. I guess only time will tell.

Their plight has garnered the attention of several big players in the conservative movement including Sarah Palin and Sean Hannity.

YouTube has not made a statement on the demonetization and has not addressed the accusations made by the ladies, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they gave a lukewarm assurance that this is not political, while the reality is blindingly apparent to anyone with two brain cells to rub together.
