Important Climate & Energy Policy Discussion Last Week

The American Petroleum institute has outlined important public policy considerations in light of Congress hinting at a shift in energy legislation.

First, API’s Jack Gerard and Rep. Ed Markey had a good conversation at the API/Newsweek panel discussion on Tuesday evening. Here’s a link to the transcript from the event.

Second, API’s President Jack Gerard and Devon Energy’s Chairman and CEO Larry Nichols talked with reporters about the White House Jobs Summit. They called the summit a “missed opportunity,” adding that the industry could create hundreds of thousands of jobs without requiring a bailout or stimulus money.

API outlined its position on job creation in a news release here.

It is too bad the White House often leaves out those businesses that actually create jobs and wealth.
