Labor Participation Rate Is Collapsing

In case you are wondering how Obama manages to keep official unemployment under 10% even while imposing policies that appear explicitly designed to drive up unemployment:

A record high 91,541,000 Americans did not participate in the labor force this October. …

The BLS defines a person “[n]ot in the labor force” as age 16 and older who are not employed and not considered to be unemployed as they have not looked for work in the four weeks prior to the survey.

The labor force participation rate – or all employed and unemployed people – in accordance with the decline, also hit a record low at 62.8 percent.

When President Obama took office in January 2009, the labor force participation rate was 65.7 percent.

Over 11 million Americans have dropped out of the labor force since Obama took power. Some recovery.

Meanwhile, welfare colonists continue to swamp the country in uncountable hordes, allegedly to do the work Americans won’t do. After amnesty hits, the floodgates will open all the way.

The goal is for takers to outnumber makers. That tipping point will plunge us into the same condition as Venezuela, assuring perpetual power for socialists. Obama’s reelection proves that we are almost there. Zero Hedge says we have four years to go.
