Head of San Francisco School Board Wants to Purge School Names of Villains Like George Washington

To inflict utopia, you first have to unmoor us from the past. Under the first modern totalitarian regime, the French even threw out the calendar and imposed a new one with 1792 as Year I. A similar mentality is on display as progressives attempt to cut us off from the history that defines us by demonizing the heroes of the past and replacing them with new heroes — like disrespectful NFL benchwarmer Colin Kaepernick.

Board of Education President Matt Haney wants to purge schools in the San Francisco Unified School District of “the names of men with questionable human rights legacies” — i.e., anyone who lived too long ago to comply in all respects with up to the minute standards of leftist political orthodoxy.

Haney is hoping the school district can have more schools named after people of color, women and LGBT figures, he said.

In utopia, you don’t get a school named after you for founding the country. But you might for indulging in abnormal sex acts — or for refusing to behave respectfully when the national anthem is played.

The idea came to him after listening to a sermon Sunday at Third Baptist Church, a black church in the Western Addition, about 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick protesting the national anthem in recent weeks. The song’s slave-owning author, Francis Scott Key, has a school named after him in the Outer Sunset.

Haney stirred up a conversation Sunday when he posted on Facebook that Washington High should drop the first president’s name and instead be called Maya Angelou High School after the famed author and poet who attended school there.

“We tearing them all down,” wrote in a Facebook comment in response to a suggestion that the school named after Key be renamed after Kaepernick. “No schools named after people who bought and owned human beings and committed genocide.”

By now you might be picturing Matt Haney as looking something like this:

Actually, this is Matt Haney:

Having been a slave owner centuries ago when it was common practice is not the only crime that will result in a trip down the Memory Hole. The James Lick Middle School may get renamed because:

The latter is named after one of the wealthiest men in California in the late 1800s, yet in the 2015 school year, 81 percent of students there were socio-economically disadvantaged.

Unless they are leftist politicians like Shrillary or Bernie Sanders, wealthy people are politically incorrect. Down the Memory Hole!

San Francisco already has a K-5 public school, the Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy, that is named after a degenerate who sexually preyed on troubled underage boys.

If a giant meteor scores a direct hit on San Francisco, we will know why it was sent.
