This is disgusting and why am I not surprised that Janeane Garofalo is involved? Netflix should be ashamed for running this series. It’s undignified and an insult to both Ronald Reagan and H.W. Bush. Poop jokes are all over the place with Presidents defecating in public and Reagan is portrayed as a domestic terrorist that wants to nuke Camp Firewood. There is nothing humorous here. Just insulting and outrageously over the top bull crap.
NewsBusters reviewed the series and found it just as offensive as I did. It’s called Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later. It debuted last week and it is just another leftist hit job at Reagan, Bush and conservatives in general. There are eight amazingly stupid episodes. Garofalo is one of the least funny “comedic actresses” in Hollywood. She’s a troll. You just know if she’s involved, this is a craptastic piece of offal.
What do you get when former presidents are used in a weird plot meant to bring old friends together and teach them some lessons in friendship? You get Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, released on August 4, 2017. The bizarre story was told in eight 30-minute episodes and, along the way, former President Reagan was depicted as a diabolical nuclear warhead thief and involved with several poop jokes for good measure. Yes. Really.×

As the show opens, it is August, 1991, and Camp Firewood is up for sale. Owner Beth (Janeane Garofalo) has decided she cannot compete with all the specialty camps that are so popular. That is when we learn that former President Ronald Reagan (Michael Showalter) is behind a deal to purchase Camp Firewood. The use of Reagan comes from the original series that showed government agents attacking the camp under the directions of the then-President Reagan.
In episode 2, titled “Softball,” Reagan explains to President George H.W. Bush (Michael Ian Black) that he will campaign for Bush to defeat the Democrat challenger, Gov. Bill Clinton (Joshua Malina), and in return, Reagan wants Camp Firewood. He tells Bush that he had the chance to destroy it ten years ago and didn’t. He now regrets it: “My last year in office, I stole a nuke and I buried it underneath Camp Firewood in a secret bunker that I funded with dark money and I staffed with my own private team of military elites. And I’m gonna blow that shithole camp to smithereens. And I need you to give me the new launch codes.” Bush agrees to help.
The story-line gets more and more bizarre as it goes. It’s like whoever did this was on a bunch of really good drugs. And it’s disgusting in the extreme. The second episode relates how Ronald Reagan has a vendetta against Camp Firewood because he had some embarrassing moment there when he was a camper in 1921. Nice, except Reagan was 10 years-old in 1921. They are not long on facts with this one. That vendetta turns Reagan into a domestic terrorist. Reagan, though tough, was one of the kindest, gentlest men that ever graced the White House. These people have no idea what they are talking about. They are just spewing imaginative, unfunny hate.
If you aren’t into poop jokes and mind numbing leftist humor, stay away from this series. MRC also goes on to describe vulgar sex jokes and other absurd characters in the Netflix series. It’s childish and dumb. The left has forever portrayed both Reagan and H.W. Bush as buffoons who are nuke happy. That was not true of either of them. Democrats would never be lampooned like this. I’m disappointed in Netflix yet again over this. The last time was over Bill Nye, the faux science guy and his disgusting show. Have a little class for once and stop it with this idiocy.
