China Buys Energy in Our Backyard

It is always comforting to hear that our legislators prevent us from developing our own natural resources to protect the environment. Yet, they don’t realize that China doesn’t have to follow the same rules that our government sets for American citizens. Consequently, China is developing oil where Americans can’t. Wonderful!

Here is a great post on the Institute for Energy Research titled, “China Secures Oil and Gas Resources; U.S. Prefers to Wait for Green Energy.[1] It explains that China is quietly securing oil and natural gas assets in Canada and elsewhere, while the current administration has stopped several initiatives aimed at increasing domestic supplies of energy, including the delay of the new five-year leasing plan that would have set a schedule for U.S. offshore leasing and development.
