The Obama Administration Apologizes To The People Attacking Our Embassy

Barack Obama has pursued his foreign policy with the habitual incompetence that he’s shown in the domestic arena, but he’s been a little luckier there. The military came to him and said, “We know where Osama is. Are we allowed to kill him?” He said “yes.” Iraq didn’t implode when we pulled out despite his incredibly foolish decision to set a timeline.

That’s where Obama has been lucky.

Obama is also losing the war in Afghanistan via a half hearted effort, ridiculous rules of engagement, and another timeline that is propping up the morale of the Taliban. Our relationship with Pakistan, an unstable country with nuclear weapons, is also disintegrating because of Obama’s weakness. Additionally, he’s doing nothing to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, which would trigger a nuclear arms race in the Middle East and could very well lead to a terrorist setting off a nuclear bomb in an American city. He’s also damaging our relationship with Israel, helping the Muslim Brotherhood rise in the Middle East, bowing to dictators, and he worked on the same side as Al-Qaeda to defeat Gadaffi, who apparently made a fatal mistake when he chose to work with America in the war on terror.

The Democrats BRAGGED about that disaster during their convention. How’s that working out for us?

(Hawkins’ note: Four — updated report) American State Department employees were killed in Benghazi, Libya after militants stormed the U.S. consulate, angry about an American made film that depicts Prophet Mohammad as a fraud and womanizer.

Anger over the film that some believe insults the Prophet Muhammad also provoked protests in Cairo Tuesday, where demonstrators climbed the walls of the U.S. embassy, took down the American flag and replaced it with a black flag.

…The group that attacked the consulate is called Ansar al Sharia, according to Libyan sources. The group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but did not mention the movie as motivation. The group is close to al Qaeda ideology and exists in east Libya.

Say what you want about Gadaffi, but if he were there, no one would have touched that embassy and those four State Department employees would be alive today.

Then, there’s Egypt where Obama’s terrorist friendly pals in the Muslim Brotherhood are running the show.

In Cairo, dozens of protesters scaled the embassy walls and took down the flag from a pole in the courtyard. After trying unsuccessfully to burn it, they ripped it apart and replaced it with a black flag bearing Arabic writing. Reports that the black flag was from al Qaeda were not confirmed.

Victoria Nuland, a State Department spokeswoman, said today the United States was working with Egyptian security to restore order.

…David Linfield, an embassy spokesman, said that no guns were involved.

“No one fired,” he said.

They damn sure should have fired before they let the American flag be torn down on 9/11 and, we don’t know for sure, be replaced with Al-Qaeda’s flag. Of course, it’s no surprise that the same Obama Administration that bows to foreign dictators already had this sniveling missive posted — on 9/11 of all days.

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

Of course, the Obama administration being the Obama Administration, it followed that up with Tweets from US Embassy standing by the statement AFTER the attack.

This morning’s condemnation (issued before protest began) still stands. As does our condemnation of unjustified breach of the Embassy

Gutsy call.

Now, they’re changing their tune after Mitt Romney has landed on the timid, limp, Carteresque response of the Obama Administration with both feet.

I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It’s disgraceful that the Obama Administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.

Maybe instead of trying to turn 9/11 into a national day of service, he could call for it to be a national day of bowing and apology to radical Muslims because we “made them” hate us.

Update #1: We should cut off every last dime of aid to both Egypt and Libya in response to these attacks. We’re pumping billions of dollars into two hostile nations that regularly use their government controlled press to spew hateful anti-American propaganda. What happened at our embassies was a direct result of that.
