State Senator: If the Dem Governor of VA Hates Guns, He Shouldn’t Be Surrounded by Armed Guards

The hypocrisy of gun control advocates is never-ending, and Terry McAuliffe, the Democrat governor of Virginia, is no exception. He routinely advocates for law-abiding Americans to have their guns taken away, so a Republican legislator is coming up with a new proposal: if McAuliffe is so afraid of guns, then he’ll take away his armed guards.

Senator Bill Carrico (R-VA) told the Herald-Courier on Tuesday once the new session commences next month, he and other legislators will counter this move and other anti-gun measures brought forth by the McAuliffe administration.

“A lot of the governor’s power is deferred to the General Assembly at that point and I’ll be getting with my colleagues to circumvent everything this governor has done on this point,” he said to the paper.

Carrico added, “I have a budget amendment that I’m looking at to take away his executive protection unit. If he’s so afraid of guns, then I’m not going to surround him with armed state policemen.”

That’s a very good idea — after all, if guns are so bad, then why does McAuliffe make sure that he’s protected at all times with lots of men carrying guns? McAuliffe’s actions are particularly horrible when you remember that while McAuliffe aims to strip people of the ability to defend themselves, he’s not providing them with the armed guards that he so enjoys.
