Using a grove of trees as target practice may not be such a good idea, which one man figured out the hard way. He fired his Smith and Wesson for the first time right into a tree, causing near catastrophic consequences.

Video posted online shows a man fire a .500 Smith & Wesson firearm for the first time — and then run in pure panic when he realized its ramifications.

After the man pulls the trigger, appearing to fire a round at a target pinned on a tree trunk, footage shows the piece of timber fall down toward him.

“Watch out! Move! Move!” the man filming shouted. “Oh sh**!”

Video of the aftermath revealed that the bullet had split the tree’s trunk, resulting in it collapsing to the ground.

The group of men had been shooting at the target for God knows how long, leaving the trees littered with bullet holes. The tree falling was inevitable, but hey — maybe next time they’ll pick a better spot for shooting.
