Which Gun Control Law Would Have Prevented the Sandy Hook Tragedy?

Moments after children died on the floor of Sandy Hook Elementary School, there were gun ghouls moving in to grotesquely exploit their deaths for political purposes.

However, there’s a very basic question that hasn’t been answered: What gun control law would have prevented the gun control tragedy?

* Adam Lanza didn’t acquire his guns through any sort of “gun show loophole” that needs to be closed. He got his weapons by murdering his mother and taking her legal weaponry.
* Sandy Hook Elementary was already a “gun free zone,” but unsurprisingly, a man bent on mass murder ignored that law.
* Adam Lanza used a semiautomatic Bushmaster .223 rifle for his killing spree. That weapon was perfectly legal under the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004; so even if it had been in place, it wouldn’t have made one iota of difference.

So, the answer to the question posed in the title is that there are no gun control laws that could feasibly be passed that would have prevented what happened at Sandy Hook.

When advocates of gun control like Michael Moore, Michael Bloomberg and Barack Obama give up their armed bodyguards, then they might have a little more credibility when they advocate gun control laws that do nothing to stop mass murders, but do put innocent Americans at the mercy of murderers, gangs and rapists.
