Under Obamacare, You’ll Be Paying For Other People’s Abortions Out Of Your Own Pocket

Are you morally opposed to abortion? Do you think it’s the greatest evil in American history? Do you believe it’s absolutely, incontrovertibly incompatible with your religious views?

That’s too bad, because under Obamacare, you’ll be personally funding abortions:

Health care reform should not be used as an opportunity to use federal funds to pay for elective abortions. Health reform should be an opportunity to protect human life – not end it.

Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi’s 2,032-page government takeover of health care does just that. On line 17, p. 110, section 222 under “Abortions for which Public Funding is Allowed” the Health and Human Services Secretary is given the authority to determine when abortion is allowed under the government-run plan. The Speaker’s plan also requires that at least one insurance plan offered in the Exchange covers abortions.

What is even more alarming is that a monthly abortion premium will be charged of all enrollees in the government-run plan. It’s right there on line 16, page 96, section 213, under “Insurance Rating Rules.” The premium will be paid into a U.S. Treasury account – and these federal funds will be used to pay for the abortion services.

Section 213 describes the process in which the Health Benefits Commissioner is to assess the monthly premiums that will be used to pay for elective abortions under the government-run plan. The Commissioner must charge at a minimum $1 per enrollee per month.

Do you want your money to be used to kill children? Are you ready to have that on your conscience for the rest of your life?

If not, pick up the phone and call your congressional representative. Time is rapidly running out.

If you don’t want your money to pay for abortions, then don’t take part in the public plan. Buy private insurance.

Actually, under private insurance, your dollars STILL pay for abortions, unless your insurance company specifically states that don’t cover abortions at all.

After all, your premiums just don’t go to pay for your services. They go into a pool from which the physicians & service get paid from. So actually this post is nonsense.

Private insurance is a choice. I don’t have to pay for other people’s abortions under a private insurance plan. I can take my money to another insurance company if I disapprove of how my current one does business. But last I checked, I can’t “choose” not to pay taxes to the government.

The right to have an abortion is settled law. Check the last Supreme Court ruling. Activist groups can chip away at it all they want but there is no way that that a Federal program can deny access to abortions without the entire bill being ruled unconstitutional.

Since your tax dollars will go into the plan whether you are part of it or not, then you’re paying for it. And since the government health care insurance will squeeze out private insurers by design and intent, eventually you’ll have no choice since it by law penalizes you for not signing on to the plan if you don’t have a private insurer

Then there’s that pesky US Constitution which prohibits the federal government from this sort of thing. But who cares about that, we’re busy remaking the US into a socialist paradise, the law and history plainly showing that merely leads to misery and poverty is irrelevant.

Slaves were once considered property of owners who could do anything they wanted to their slave. That was settled law, by the Supreme Court’s ruling. Fighting for the lives of innocent, helpless children doesn’t make you an “activist.” It makes you a sane, decent human being.
