Hillary Accused Of Using Nancy Reagan To Re-Write History For Her Own Gain – Then KARMA Strikes!

What an opportunistic hypocrite Hillary Clinton is. First she praised Nancy Reagan at her funeral for making headway on HIV and AIDS. Well, that didn’t last long. Later in the day, she took it back. Hillary said she misspoke and made a mistake. Her quote was: “While the Reagans were strong advocates for stem cell research and finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, I misspoke about their record on HIV and AIDS. For that, I’m sorry.” Obviously, she is pandering to the gay community here who feel the Reagans did not do enough to help their cause in the 1980’s. This is a woman who never apologizes for anything, but when votes are on the line… whoo boy!

Hillary Clinton

From Independent Journal:

While attending the funeral for former First Lady Nancy Reagan, 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton praised Mrs. Reagan’s efforts in starting “a national conversation” about the prevalence of HIV and AIDS in the United States.

She told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell:

“It may be hard for your viewers to remember how difficult it was for people to talk about HIV/AIDS back in the 1980s. And because of both president and Mrs. Reagan, we started a national conversation, when before, nobody talked about it.”

Clinton later added that she “admired” the late First Lady for being so proactive in the policy setting of her husband’s administration, a move that allowed her (and other subsequent First Ladies) to follow in her footsteps and do the same.

Nonetheless, the praise didn’t last very long, given that her campaign later released a statement on Twitter retracting her comments on MSNBC earlier in the day:

Reagan declared in a September 1985 press conference that he wanted a massive government research effort against AIDS similar to the one President Nixon had oversaw against cancer. Reagan said, “It’s been one of the top priorities with us, and over the last 4 years, and including what we have in the budget for ’86, it will amount to over a half a billion dollars that we have provided for research on AIDS in addition to what I’m sure other medical groups are doing.” He also remarked, “Yes, there’s no question about the seriousness of this and the need to find an answer.” Annual AIDS related funding was $8 million in 1983, 2 years after he took office, and was $1.6 billion in 1988, an increase of over 1000 percent. Sounds to me like Ronald Reagan should be lauded for funding AIDS research and bringing awareness to the public over the seriousness of the disease. But politicians tend to rewrite history and Hillary just couldn’t be seen praising a Reagan. She shouldn’t have even bothered going to the funeral.
