Joey and Rory Feek’s Daughter Is Adjusting Losing Her Mother: She ‘Won’t Leave Her Papa’s Side’

The recent passing, due to ovarian cancer, of country music star Joey Feek, of Joey+Rory fame, has been a tragedy for the duo’s fans. But more than that, the personal loss to Joey’s daughter Indiana has been truly devastating.

To cope with the loss, Indiana’s father Rory Feek has taken to documenting how she’s dealing with it – and the answer is developing a closeness to her father few kids who haven’t lost a parent can imagine.

wont leave his side

In a touching Instagram picture posted on Saturday, March 19, Rory Feek shows the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Indiana, by her father’s side. The adorable toddler sits in pigtails by Rory’s legs with the caption, “…somebody won’t leave her papa’s side.”

Following a battle with ovarian cancer, the late Joey Feek passed away at age 40 in her home in Alexandria, Indiana. She hit all of the milestones she and Rory set, including their daughter’s second birthday in February.

Rory updated friends, family and fans of Joey’s condition through a blog called, “This Life I Live.” In the post confirming his wife’s death, he wrote, “My wife’s greatest dream came true today. She is in Heaven.” After Joey’s death, Rory relocated to the couple’s farm in Tennessee with his two daughters as well as the couple’s only child together, Indiana.
