Illinois Democratic Rep. Luis Gutierrez has been busted… again. It certainly isn’t the first time and won’t be the last. He was among 200 protesters arrested Wednesday on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. These were pro-Amnesty demonstrators. He joined members of the Service Employee’s International Union who proceeded to storm the Capitol steps demanding that bipartisan legislation be passed that would protect “Dreamers.” That would be those who fall under the Deferred Action for Child Arrivals (DACA) program. Both chambers currently are considering a bipartisan measure to replace the order that allowed temporary protected status to illegal residents nationwide.
Back in September, President Trump announced he would be ending the DACA program that was created by Barack Obama. This ‘illegal’ program allowed in illegal immigrants and their children. It’s chain migration. The children were brought in illegally by their parents and special allowances were then made by Obama so they could stay. They don’t have legal status, but they did get temporary protection from deportation and permission to work in the US. That’s ending now and Gutierrez doesn’t like it at all. He’s a racist and a communist, so it offends him doubly so.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez was among the 200 protesters arrested Wednesday on U.S. Capitol steps. The protesters are demanding lawmakers pass legislation that would provide protection for the “Dreamers.”
These protesters vowed hundreds would be arrested during its “civil disobedience action.” They made good on that promise. Gutierrez had pledged he would be arrested as well and the police granted his wish. Gutierrez and other protesters wore green gloves and green armbands to signify their pledge to be arrested. The Senate and the House are in a budget stalemate and the program is ostensibly caught in the middle. It could lead to a government shutdown if a spending bill is not passed. It shouldn’t be any part of a spending bill. SEIU had no comment on all this even though they had protesters there.
“Congress refuses to act, and it’s killing us,” one protester said. No, it’s about to right a wrong. If you are not here legally and are violating the law, regardless of how you got here, you need to leave and come back legally. It’s just that simple. Immigration advocates are pushing Congress to act, fearing it’s the last opportunity for Republicans and Democrats to strike a deal over the contentious issue, according to AZ Central. I hope they fail to act and that DACA ends. It should never have existed in the first place.
The protesters were evidently mostly peaceful for a change. Capitol Police appeared ill-prepared for such a large number of arrests, but the force was quickly able to adapt, surrounding the protesters before giving the customary three warnings to disperse before legal action would be taken. Those arrested were not placed in handcuffs or flexible restraints. A makeshift processing center held those arrested before being transported by bus to jail. This is not about civil rights, it’s about the rule of law and enforcing it. I’m not impressed by those seeking to be arrested in the name of DACA.
Gutierrez announced he’s not running for his seat in the 2018, but he is considering a run for presidency in 2020 just as I predicted. This means he will no longer be able to pay his wife hundreds of thousands of dollars from campaign funds once he officially departs from Congress. Soraida Gutierrez, his wife, has collected more than $430,000 from Gutierrez for Congress, Luis’ campaign committee, since 2010. Soraida is the top recipient of expenditures this year. Anyone surprised by that? I didn’t think so. Soraida, who was a registered lobbyist in Illinois prior to appearing on the campaign’s payroll, has been listed as the campaign’s office manager, fundraiser and treasurer for the past seven years. Gutierrez also paid his two daughters a combined $5,000 for a fundraising project and bookkeeping between 2004 and 2009.
He’s a radical activist for those such as La Raza, which means ‘The Race’. There’s not a chance in hell he’ll be elected, but he’s going for it. This has to do with Mexican nationalism and taking back parts of the US in their name. It’s a pity that Gutierrez doesn’t stay behind bars where he belongs. He’s a perfect example of political corruption.
