Obama: We’ve Already Done Everything We Need To Do To Enforce Immigration Laws

“We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement.” — Barack Obama[1], May 10, 2011

In other words, in Barack Obama’s eyes, we’ve done everything we need to do to enforce our immigration laws. Except…we haven’t.

Are our borders secure? No. Have we got a reliable employee verification system that prevents illegals from getting a job? No. Can a pregnant illegal alien sneak across the border today and have a child who has American citizenship tomorrow? Yes. Do we have the government actually warning Americans about closing off areas of Arizona to travel because of illegal-immigration-related crime? Yes. Does ICE still catch and release illegals? Yes. Will ICE always come and pick up illegals when requests are made by local law enforcement? No. Do we have any sort of effective program in place to prevent people from overstaying their VISAs? No. Has the border fence been completed? No. In fact, we’ve only built 36.3 out of 700 miles of the border fence[2].

As if all of that wasn’t enough, the Obama administration is suing Arizona to try to keep it from enforcing our immigration laws and Obama wants to give 10 million American jobs to foreigners who entered this country illegally via amnesty while we’ve got a 9 percent unemployment rate.

Oh, but Obama has gone “above and beyond.” What a joke.
