THIS IS WHY WE NEED KATE’S LAW: Previously-Deported Child Rapist Illegal Alien Returns

Kate’s Law, the proposed legislation imposing a five-year mandatory jail sentence for criminal illegal aliens found returning to the country, is making the rounds in Washington but hasn’t generated a full consensus in Congress just yet.

That will change as more stories like these surface

A previously deported illegal alien who had been convicted of sexually assaulting a child earlier this year is back in the United States.

U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 22-year-old Joel Silva Duran, an illegal alien from Mexico, last week near the border city of Roma, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed.

After the arrest, the agents learned that Silva Duran had been deported four months earlier, on April 3, 2015, through Brownsville, Texas. The deportation came just one day after he had been sentenced to 10 years of probation at a state court in Rio Grande City on the charge of sexual assault of a child.

Silva was formally charged with one count of illegal reentry by U.S. Magistrate Peter Ormsby in McAllen. It remains unclear if his arrest will have an effect on his probation sentence and if state prosecutors will seek to have the probation sentence revoked in exchange for jail time.

A wall might similarly be a good idea, but one way or another it’s becoming clear that the American public has had it with criminals from other countries making their way inside our borders. That’s particularly true in Texas, where some 600,000 crimes have been committed by illegal aliens since 2009.
