Slain TV Reporter Adam Ward Was A Huge Virginia Tech Fan. Here’s How The School Will Honor Him.

Adam Ward was the TV cameraman shot and killed on the air last week in Roanoke, Virginia by a crazed former employee of the station Ward and his colleague, Alison Parker, worked for.

Ward was also an alumnus and rabid supporter of Virginia Tech, and had said the Hokies’ upset victory over eventual national champion Ohio State last year was the best game he’d ever seen.

So in the aftermath of his death and with the football season approaching, here’s what the university will do in remembrance of its fallen fan

Turquoise was Alison Parker’s favorite color and maroon is Virginia Tech’s color. The number seven represents the channel number for WDBJ in Roanoke both worked for.

And here’s what the insignia will look like on Virginia Tech’s helmets for their rematch against the Buckeyes on Monday night…

Reportedly a moment of silence will be held before the game at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, just down the road from Roanoke.
