Iran Takes Samples At Parchin Military Site Without IAEA Present

Hey, remember when Liberal supporters of the Iran deal were scoffing at the notion of a secret side deal between Iran and the IAEA which would allow Iran to do their own inspection of their Parchin facility, even going so far as to refer to those who believed the AP report as “Parchin Truthers”?

Remember when Obama said “Iran will face strict limitations on its program, and Iran has also agreed to the most robust and intrusive inspections and transparency regime ever negotiated for any nuclear program in history.  So this deal is not based on trust, it’s based on unprecedented verification.”?

This is the “unprecedented verification, I suppose

(Reuters) Iranian nuclear experts have taken environmental samples from the military base at Parchin without United Nations inspectors being present, the spokesman for Iran’s atomic energy agency was quoted as saying on Monday.

The procedure for taking the samples, which could shed light on whether Iran’s nuclear program ever had a military dimension, has been under intense discussion since Tehran reached a nuclear deal with world powers in July.

Western diplomats told Reuters earlier this month inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations nuclear watchdog, would observe samples being taken.

“Iranian experts took samples from specific locations in Parchin facilities this week without IAEA’s inspectors being present,” Behruz Kamalvandi was quoted as saying by state news agency IRNA.

Well, now, this means that the side deal is real, or that Iran is blowing off the requirement to allow inspectors, and just doing the work themselves.

Anyone want to place a bet on the samples being perfectly clean? Will Iran even submit the required videos and pictures that the side deal demanded?

So much for anytime anywhere verifiable inspections. I guess we’re just going to have to go with “trust“. Of the Iranian regime.
