Feds: Uneaten Federally Mandated Lunches Make Students More Civic-Minded and Community-Conscious

Michelle Obama has driven public school students to the edge of revolt by helping to inflict upon then insufficient and horrid-tasting meals. But even if the uneaten food doesn’t make anyone healthier, it can mold youth into “civic-minded, community-conscious adults” – at least, that’s what the government says:

The U.S. Agriculture Department has found an upside to all those “healthy” school lunches that students refuse to eat: It says schools can use the plate waste as a “learning opportunity” to turn young students into “civic-minded, community-conscious adults.”

For example,

A blog on the USDA website explains that an elementary school in Northern Virginia is now donating untouched food to a local food pantry.

Why is the food untouched? Because politically correct federally micromanaged government food is worse than merely inedible; you wouldn’t even want to touch it. Students are opting to go across the street and buy their lunch at the local 7-Eleven instead. But the important thing as always is left-wing politics.

“The school’s Eco Team, run by sixth graders, ensures their fellow students are putting waste into the correct bin,” the blog says.

Hitlerjugend was bad enough. Now we have “Eco Teams.”

“The team then collects, weighs, categorizes, and places the food to be donated into separate refrigerators, provided by the Food Bus, a non-profit organization that works with schools to donate food that would otherwise go to waste.

As we all know, if there is one thing Big Government cannot abide, it is waste.
