Look Who GOT CAUGHT After Spray Painting Swastika, “Heil Trump” on Church

In this day and age, hate crimes tend to be met with a pretty heavy amount of skepticism. And there’s a simple reason why: because people, often liberals, fake them. And like clockwork, another hate crime has been discovered to be a hoax.

Not long after the election in November, St. David’s Episcopal Church in Indiana was vandalized with swastikas and the words “Heil Trump” spray painted on the walls. The church organist, George Nathanial Stang, found the vandalism and reported it. But now, it turns out that the “hate crime” was perpetrated by Stang himself.

Stang said that he wanted to “mobilize a movement” in a handwritten statement. “I suppose I wanted to give local people a reason to fight for good, even if it was a false flag,” he wrote. “To be clear my actions were not motivated by hate for the church or its congregation. I of course realize now, this was NOT the way to go about inspiring activism.”

The vandalism of the church was frequently brought up in mainstream media reports of increases in hate crimes following Donald Trump’s win, in media outlets like the Washington Post and CNN.

Stang admitted to buying the spray paint at a hardware store and staging the crime because he was upset about the election. He’s now been charged with a class A misdemeanor of criminal mischief. Officials also pointed out that his motivations were not based on race or religion — just politics. “This incident has been a blight on our small and diverse community, and I am proud of the hard work put forth by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, especially Detective Brian Shrader and Sheriff Scott Southerland,” Theodore Adams, the prosecuting attorney, said. “It was truly a team effort involving many nights away from each of our families.”

In John Hawkins’ new book, ‘101 Things All Young Adults Should Know’, he teaches in number 16 of the book to be nice until it’s time to not be nice.

Stang made a big mistake here. These fake hate crimes may very well mobilize a movement, but the opposite of the one he was hoping for. And they’re not going to be very nice to liberals like Stang.
