No wonder liberals are so sympathetic to Muslim terrorists. Their tactics have a lot in common — especially regarding animal rights kooks. From increasingly moonbat-infested Colorado:

The man suspected [of] torching the Sheepskin Factory in Glendale was back in a federal courtroom Wednesday morning. … Prosecutors say [Walter] Bond has been involved in an alarming and dramatic escalation in crimes since his 1997 arson conviction in Iowa. He will be held without bond [no pun intended]. The judge called him a flight risk and a danger to the community.

The ultimate danger to our national community is the wildly metastasizing liberalism that produces these maniacs.

Bond is what is called a “Vegan Straightedge.” It means he’s somebody who doesn’t eat animals and has made a vow not to use alcohol, drugs, or take part in promiscuous sex. A tattoo of “vegan” is written on his neck and “straightedge” on his arm.

You had to know it was only a matter of time before progressives revived their old jihad against alcohol. Maybe prohibition, like communism, will work fine once we have the right rulers in place.

A lefty refraining from promiscuous sex is an encouraging development. But then, judging by his mug shot, abstinence may be Bond’s only option:

Some websites are now posting calls of support for Bond.

“I think burning down a building can be a very effective way of stopping animal suffering when it’s done strategically,” said Peter Young, who runs the website Voice of the Voiceless.

By the way, the Sheepskin Factory doesn’t even harm animals. It uses skin from sheep that have already been killed for food — which is what sheep are for.
