The 40 Best Conservative Blogs For 2010 (Version 2.0)

It’s time for me to rank my favorite blogs for the 2nd quarter of 2010.

Do keep in mind that as the quarter has progressed, some blogs have, of course, moved up and others have dropped, based on how often I visit them, how much I like what I see when I get there, how often the blogs are updated, etc., etc. Also, as per usual, do keep in mind that this sort of list changes frequently over time based on a variety of factors. So if a blog didn’t get included, it’s no big deal — it could be on the list next time. Let me also add that there are some very good blogs that I read almost daily, that didn’t make the list. If you see any blogs on there that you’re not familiar with, make sure to check them out. Here’s the list:

PS: I decided that in order to be fair, I couldn’t add any of the bloggers who now blog for RWN or Pajamas Media, where I semi-regularly write columns. Be aware that most of these blogs would make the list and all of them are definitely worth checking out. When you find a new blogger you like on RWN, it’s always a good idea to click over to his or her blog and read all of his or her work.

What a sad illustration of the “blogosphere”.

*Those not approving my comments I've left there include Power Line, Gay Patriot, and Top of The Ticket. Riehl World View deleted a comment I left there, and RedState banned me entirely (after I'd posted around 75 blog posts – not just comments – there).

* Instapundit, instead of encouraging his readers to do things that are effective, has encouraged them to engage in childish behavior like holding “rabbit ears” behind a politician's head. That's about all he and many have, because showing how someone is wrong is beyond their capabilities.

* Megan McArdle isn't a conservative; she's a libertarian loon. Atlas Shrugs is, well, you decide.

* A few of the others – including ones near the top – have a long-running inability to get their facts straight.

* Not all of those listed are bad, and not all are ineffective: some of them are able to get stories out there.

If you just want echo chambers and basically to be entertained, most of those will fit the bill. If you want to actually have an impact rather than playing around, see what and how I cover things and help out.

Seems a bit bias towards established friends and linkbacks to RWN.

Compare it to the e-referrer list in the right sidebar. There are what, 8 blogs from that in the top 50. It would be interesting to see a longer list of referrers.

Moonbattery posts great articles, several times a day. Many posts are roundups from these fine blogs, with their snarky wit commenting on the subject; they're definitely my “go to” blog. I hope they won't be overlooked again. Good to see my other fav blogs listed, and some I've never heard of… my RSS reader is already bursting… looks like I'll have to find room for more!
