Buzzfeed Most Dishonest Headline Attacking Romney

Buzzfeed sure seems to be just another arm of the Obama re-election campaign with a piece today attacking Romney over Bain outsourcing… even though Romney did not work at Bain when the outsourcing happened.

One of Obama’s most cynical campaign tactics of late has been to try and link GOP candidate Mitt Romney to jobs outsourcing that the company he once worked for undertook after the candidate left the company. Buzzfeed is simply following the Obama game plan by aiding the President with these outright lies.

Today the popular site posted a misleading headline about Bain outsourcing, illicitly linked that outsourcing to Romney, then buried the truth that Romney really didn’t have anything to do with it at the bottom of the story.

The headline screams, “Bain & Co. Employed ‘Director Of Outsourcing’.”

Then there is a nearly full screen image of Mitt Romney with a sign on his podium saying “Putting Jobs First.” (The choice of that photo is also key as we are supposed to scoff at that picture and hold Romney up as a liar)

Then we get five paragraphs detailing the fact that Bain Capital had a guy that was in charge of outsourcing jobs to other countries.

It isn’t until the second to last paragraph that we are finally told that “Romney was not at Bain & Co. nor Bain Capital in 2004.”

It’s like a headline, a photo, and five paragraphs essentially screaming that Romney was the king of outsourcing and then a last paragraph saying, “never mind, he really wasn’t.”

Burying the actual truth in the last paragraph is called burying the lede in the news and it is the perfect way to tar someone with guilt by association. You can have a whole story leading readers to imagine the subject of the story is a mean, rotten guy, then at the last second, after you’ve already built the subject into a creep, you then casually refute your own story knowing full well that the reader already gained a negative viewpoint and won’t notice the correction at the end.

Combine that with the fact that many readers never read all the way to the last paragraph and you’re sure to realize that most readers will never see the contradiction, anyway!

As Big Journalism’s John Nolte points out, this is a “phony story” and lambasts Buzzfeed’s objectivity.

Oh, and don’t forget that BuzzFeed Politics poses as an “objective” news outlet.

Exactly so!

On the other hand, the REAL outsourcer is our President. http://www.obamanomicsoutsourced.com/

The GOP-sponsored website shows where many millions of Obama’s “stimulus” dollars went overseas instead of staying here and helping Americans.
