Charlie Rose Joins the Sexual Misconduct Parade

The sexual misconduct craze could turn into a revival of the Salem Witch Trials, but for now at least it provides entertainment. What could be more amusing that watching a liberal elitist at P.C. PBS brought down in a blaze of political incorrectness with stories like this?

Eight women have told The Washington Post that longtime television host Charlie Rose made unwanted sexual advances toward them, including lewd phone calls, walking around naked in their presence, or groping their breasts, buttocks or genital areas.

The women were employees or aspired to work for Rose at the “Charlie Rose” show from the late 1990s to as recently as 2011. … Rose, 75, whose show airs on PBS and Bloomberg TV, also co-hosts “CBS This Morning” and is a contributing correspondent for “60 Minutes.”

But maybe not anymore:

Within hours of the publication of this article, PBS and Bloomberg LP immediately suspended distribution of the “Charlie Rose” show. CBS announced that it was suspending Rose as it looked into the matter.

The accusations sound credible, although some of the women are remaining anonymous due to Rose’s nasty temper and power over their careers. They don’t want to get fired for discussing his lewd behavior, as happened with at least one of his assistants.

WaPo’s lengthy piece makes for highly salacious reading. No one will be able to watch Rose put on his prestigious demeanor without breaking into guffaws after reading it — assuming he ever manages to get in front of a camera again. Maybe MSNBC?

Here’s a sample:

A woman then in her 30s who was at the Bellport [Long Island] home [one of his four] in 2010 to discuss a job opportunity said Rose appeared before her in an untethered bathrobe, naked underneath. She said he subsequently attempted to put his hands down her pants. She said she pushed his hands away and wept throughout the encounter.

Rose says he apologizes for his “inappropriate behavior” and dutifully bleats that

“All of us, including me, are coming to a newer and deeper recognition of the pain caused by conduct in the past, and have come to a profound new respect for women and their lives.”

However, moonbatty platitudes have no doubt been oozing out of Rose for decades. That didn’t stop him from behaving like a male chauvinist pig on steroids behind the scenes.
