There Will Be No Apologies For Using “Crosshairs” At RWN
Written By : John Hawkins

If irony was made out of ice cream, we’d all be eating Banana Splits right now. CNN, the same network that hosted “Crossfire” for more than two decades, has apologized because a guest used the word “Crosshairs.” Yes, really….

CNN’s John King: “Before we go to break, I want to make a quick point. We were having a discussion about the Chicago mayoral race. My friend Andy Shaw used the term ‘in the crosshairs’ in talking about the candidates. We’re trying, we’re trying to get away from that language. Andy is a good friend, he’s covered politics for a long time, but we’re trying to get away from that kind of language.”

Just for the record, we here at Right Wing News don’t apologize for using the word “crosshairs.” Other words we don’t apologize for include job killing, kneecapping, firepower, shotgun, cut, campaign, brass knuckles, slaughter, eviscerate, obliterate, fire, snipe, carve, kill, reload, targeting, gut, bombed, terminate, axe, attack, and of course, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious murder-go-round.

We also don’t apologize for calling CNN an embarrassing bunch of weenies who should man up, try to develop some testicular fortitude, and stop acting like such a bunch of little girls.

Political Correctness rides again (at CNN)!

Great job John. Just for the hell of it, permanently ban the first three liberals who start preaching to you on this thread today. Nixon imagines a good frothing will begin shortly.

    • Red

Looks like I get the #1 honors!

Hawkins, you use all of that obviously violent rhetoric, and yet still call out the left for it?

Charming. If irony was ice cream, you’d be drowning in it.

      • Anonymous

and so how many mass murders or criminal events to attribute to John’s “rhetoric”?

      • Don_cos

No, he calls aout the left for their hypocritical crying about violent retoric, while making use of the same.

      • StanW

And if hypocrisy was ice cream… you’d still be a hypocrite.

Either the rhetoric used by both sides is violent or neither is, Red. You and your ilk want to tell us that when we say it, it is bad; but when you say the same thing or worse, it is just political discourse.

        Pathetic!

If intelligence was food, you’d have died of starvation long ago.

Proof anything John has written has caused any acts of violence. Please cite the source, date, location, and when the individual read John’s writing as the motivation for their act.

Otherwise, sit in the corner and STFU.

I love how rhetoric and metaphors that have been used to describe politics for decades have suddenly become “obviously violent” according to liberals.

      • http://www.patriotpost.com bthewolf

He’s not calling out the left dipshit. He’s telling the Left that since they idiots for trying to quash free speech and the use of metaphor.

        Flagged for trolling…and stupidity.
What is up with this flood of short named trolls posting as “guests” over the last week? I suspect that the youtube videos attracted them here and that several of them are being run by the same person.
Once again, this would not be nearly as much of a problem if the Disqus settings were changed to require a registered account of some sort to post.

Wow, with all the words we can no longer use, these leftist must hold the record speed in winning a game of scrabble. Can we say winning anymore? That does, one would have to admit, sound very much like victory, which then has that warlike connotation to it. Perhaps if we just used, capitulatively challenged, or…submissively superior. Oh heck, waving the white surrender flag has always been their god -but only to be used with America’s enemies -never surrender as they target the constituition, the right, family values, God, truth, etc.

    • Don_cos

      Can we say winning anymore?

No you can’t use that evil word anymore. Using it implies that there must be a loser and loser implies loss and that could be construed as “loss of life” and that is evil (except for abortion) and therefore cannot be tolerated!

Winning is verboten, as is victory.

Nope, the problem in American politics today isn’t massive debt, unconstitutional laws, government corruption, open borders, a failing educational system, numerous insolvent programs, and a near 10% unemployment rate…

    It’s metaphor.

CNN has a show called “Crossfire”. Surely that must go?

    • Anonymous

It will probably be replaced with a progressive, tolerant, show that unites America and transcends politics titled, “Stab Sarah Palin Between the 3rd and 4th Rib with a Foot-long Combat Knife: with Wolf Blitzer”

      • Don_cos

That’s too long for their readers to remember. Instead it will be “Impale Palin; with Wolf Blitzer.

        • Kingfisher

“Wolf Blitzer” seems like a violent metaphor to me:

          “Wolf” – a predator
“Blitzer” – similar to “bltizkrieg.” Anyway you say it, it sounds violent.

Seems like ol’ Wolfie needs to change his name. Somebody might go off the deep end after watching one of his shows.

          • Don_cos

And why would anyone name their child “Wolf?”

  • Anonymous

Isn’t it stunning how we have become such a nation of wimps that we are getting all wee wee’d up over the crosshairs symbol. How many people get flpped the bird everyday yet manage to avoid pulling out a rifle and going nuts. Grow Up Liberals. It is not cool to be a wimp.

  • Anonymous

I wonder when we can expect the left to apologize for it’s liberal use of the words “racism”, “fascist”, “nazi”, “bigot”, etc etc etc?

    • StanW

What’s to apologize for, Smith? That is all political discourse, speaking truth to power, and DISSENT – which is the Highest Form of Patriotism™ when it is directed at a person on the Right.

      {/sarcasm off}

  • Good Ol Boy

Disgusting. Political correctness is a cowardly, apologetic, self-censoring way to live. Thankfully, much like irrational white guilt, I do not subscribe to such nonsense… say what you mean, mean what you say.

    Good post, Hawkins.

The time honored “go get f—–d” aproach is really the best way to deal with the hand wringing left and their new found feined outrage at “harsh” rhetoric.

There Will Be No Apologies For Using “Crosshairs” At RWN

But “crosshairs” might offend bald people (I was going to say men, but I don’t want to be sexist) with comb-overs!

You should be ashamed of yourself!!!1

  • Kingfisher

I wonder what John King will do if a Muslim utters the word “crosshairs?”

    • Anonymous

Well when they scream jihad we are constantly reminded that ‘Jihad’ has nothing to do with violence, it refers only to an inner spiritual struggle.

So I imagine they’d say something like that for any violent rhetoric from muslims.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_YWXM6Q6QGELGTT334IQMWB774Q David

The Left has lost the battle of ideas (sorry for the violent metaphor). Their policies have been shown to be colossal abject failures. They no longer have a near monopoly on news and information. All they can do now is try to shame the right into a sort of unilateral disarmament (here we go with violent imagery again).

  • sedentary sam

Damn Right! G.W. Bush sent thousands of Americans to their deaths and spent a trillion dollars for the right of fat slobs to proudly use offensive language.

    You gonna eat that sammich?

    • Spikey

You are a nasty nasty Liberal.

Got you in my crosshairs and you are now – flagged.

Yes, President Bush did fight a war to defend our freedoms from savage terrorists. Nice of you to notice.
