Marine barred from wearing his uniform at high school graduation has been killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan
Lance Corporal Brandon Garabrant was one of three US Marines killed in Afghanistan on Friday after being hit by an IED.: The 19 year old marine made headlines this time last year for requesting to wear his uniform during his high school graduation ceremony in New Hampshire; a request that was ultimately denied by administrators.
Garabrant had been so proud of making it into the Marines that he made headlines last year after trying to wear his uniform to his high school graduation.
His Peterborough school denied his request, telling the teenager that he would have to wear his cap and gown over the newly acquired uniform.
While his high school may not have allowed this young Marine to proudly wear his uniform on graduation day, there is no doubt that he wore proudly the most important uniform of all in service to his country, and that is honor.
