President Donald Trump had the all-American honor to travel to Walter Reed and present an American soldier with a Purple Heart award. President Trump was accompanied by his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, as they handed the award to Alvaro Barrientes. He was wounded in Afghanistan on March 17th and his injuries required that part of his leg be amputated.

The ceremony, as reported by Gab editor David Page, was stated to be “nothing flashy” and “full of integrity” which might be what we were missing for the last eight years in the White House.

The Purple Heart is given to soldiers and service members who are wounded or killed in action. It’s a way to let the soldiers know that all of America thanks you for your service and it’s the least our country can do to recognize the sacrifices that our American soldiers provide for us. It’s a job that most people could not handle and our soldiers and veterans deserve every ounce of respect we can give them.

On Saturday, President Donald Trump, accompanied by first lady Melania Trump, personally awarded the Purple Heart to Army Sgt. 1st Class Alvaro Barrientos, who was wounded March 17 in Afghanistan. according to The Associated Press.

Gab editor David Page reported the ceremony as “nothing flashy,” just “full of integrity.”

The AP reported:

Trump kissed Barrientos’ wife before pinning the medal on the sergeant’s left shirt collar, grasping Barrientos by the shoulders and then shaking his hand. The Purple Heart is awarded to service members who are wounded or killed in action.

Besides Barrientos, Trump was expected to meet privately with about a dozen service members who are receiving care at the medical center.

As a fellow American, I can proudly say thank you to Mr. Alvaro Barrientos. Your service is so much appreciated and there’s no amount of thanks that will be good enough for your sacrifices and service to our beloved America.

Our troops are put through hell on the battlefield, then even worse hell when they come home to deal with the VA. Our troops have to pprepare in case it all goes wrong when they come home and need healthcare from the VA and can’t get it. They deserve the best. Time to give it to them!
