Customers At This McDonald’s Might Have Gotten A Very Bad Surprise… Did You Eat Here?

An extra value meal may have come with a side order of Hepatitis A at a McDonalds in Waterloo, New York.

mcdonalds_hep_aJascor Inc., the owner of that particular McDonald’s store, has been sued in a class action by customer Christopher Welch, who found out that one of the workers who served him food there recently was diagnosed with Hepatitis A — a potentially devastating disease that destroys the liver with infection and is highly contagious.

Hep A becomes increasingly contagious when employees do not wash their hands after using the bathroom. You see folks, we don’t tell you to wash your hands after every bathroom visit for nothing.

The virus typically spreads when workers handle utensils and food items after using the restroom but not washing their hands. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Hepatitis A “can range in severity from a mild illness lasting a few weeks to a severe illness lasting several months.”

Always wash your hands at work.
