John Hawkins Latest Rasmussen Poll: 20% Of Americans Want The Senate Bill While 69% Want Enforcement Only

You know it's funny: you have these polling agencies and MSM shills that are contorting themselves into pretzels to come up with ways to claim that the Senate amnesty bill is popular. They use open borders friendly language in the polls, they treat the American people's support of narrow slices of the bill like it's no different than support for the bill overall, and they refuse to ask outright whether people support or oppose the bill,

Meanwhile, the most accurate pollster over the last two elections, Rasmussen, keeps churning out well designed polls that cut to the heart of the matter and show that the American people don't want what the "open borders 'n' amnesty crowd" is selling.

Here's the latest from Rasmussen:

"Just 20% of American voters want Congress to try and pass the immigration reform bill that failed in the Senate last week. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 51% would like their legislators to “take smaller steps towards reform” while 16% believe they should wait until next year. The survey was conducted on Monday and Tuesday night as the President was publicly attempting to rally support for the legislation.

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of voters would favor an approach that focuses exclusively on “exclusively on securing the border and reducing illegal immigration.” Support for the enforcement only approach comes from 84% of Republicans, 55% of Democrats, and 69% of those not affiliated with either major party."

Well, what do you know? 84% of Republicans, 55% of Democrats, and 69% of Independents prefer an enforcement only approach while just 1 American out of 5 wants the comprehensive Senate bill to pass.

But wait, I thought the standard line from the pro-amnesty crowd is that the anti-illegals crowd is passionate, but the comprehensive side has the numbers. Sorry, guys, but you're on the losing side on both counts. Not only is the passion on the side on the pro-enforcement side, we have the numbers, too. Heck, even a majority of DEMOCRATS agree with our position.

You know what this debate is like? It's like an abortion debate, but instead of it being a passionate 50/50 or 55/45 debate, there's a passionate 70% on one side and a ho-hum 30% on the other. Politically, who in their right mind would want to be on the wrong side of that debate? Apparently -- amazingly -- the President and quite a few Republican senators don't seem to mind one bit.
