John Hawkins The House GOP Sends A Strong Signal To The Senate About The Amnesty Bill

Via my pal Michelle Malkin,

"The House Republican Conference today by 114 to 23 passed a resolution introduced by U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) that expresses opposition to the Senate immigration bill. "Today's vote illustrates overwhelming opposition among Republicans in the House to the Senate immigration bill and the process in which it was developed," Hoekstra said."

Michelle was a little worried after seeing that number because there were so many House Republicans who didn't vote at all. To be honest, it made me a little nervous, too, so I reached out to one of my sources in the House. He told me that the vote wasn't scheduled until yesterday, it didn't happen until 5:30, and that it wasn't binding.

So, in other words, don't get freaked out: these congressmen aren't avoiding a pro-amnesty vote, they just missed the meeting.
