It's Time to Move On to Pressing Issues Facing the Nation

Wasn't it liberals who used that language nearly 10 years ago to persuade the nation to "move on" from a Washington scandal?

It certainly was, but as Matt Margolis wrote earlier today, liberals are "foaming at the mouth" about Scooter Libby's commutation -- doing whatever they can to keep this pointless story alive. Over at Daily Kos, they're encouraging calls to the House Judiciary Committee in hopes of impeaching President Bush. If you're not satisfied with the hate-filled and evil comments on Kos, there are plenty more on Democratic Underground.

The Democrat presidential candidates are only adding fuel to the fire. Even Sen. Hillary Clinton, whose husband had the gall to pardon terrorists, couldn't hold back: "This commutation sends the clear signal that in this administration, cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice." Is there a better description for the Clinton Administration than that?

Let's face it, it doesn't really matter what Bush does anymore. He inspires near-universal hatred from the left and will continue to do so for the next 18 months of his presidency. I'm glad he commuted Libby's sentence it for two reasons: 1) The punishment didn't fit the crime, and 2) It's time to move on and put this chapter behind us. We have more important problems on our hands.
