John Hawkins The World's Lamest Super Group

Hooray! A bunch of old commies, famous incompetents & bureaucrats are getting together to solve all the world's problems for us...

"An "extraordinary collection" of independent world leaders led by Nelson Mandela gathered in Johannesburg on Wednesday to commit themselves to tackling global problems.

"This group can speak freely and boldly, working both publicly and behind the scenes on whatever actions need to be taken," Mandela said.

Mandela led the announcement of the group known as The Elders, in Johannesburg, the same day as his 89th birthday and ninth wedding anniversary to Graca Machel.

He was joined by founding members Desmond Tutu, Machel, former United Nations secretary general Kofi Annan, former US president Jimmy Carter, former Chinese foreign minister Li Zhaoxing, former Irish president Mary Robinson and philanthropist Muhammad Yunus."

You'll also love their presumptuous website which features this message,

"We are moving to a global village and yet we don't have our global elders. The Elders can be a group who have the trust of the world, who can speak freely, be fiercely independent and respond fast and flexibly in conflict situations."

Oh yeah, that's what the world needs: clowns like Kofi Annan, Jimmy Carter, Nelson Mandela, Li Zhaoxing, and Desmond Tutu acting as "village elders."

Annan was a disaster at the UN. Carter could be fighting it out with Lyndon Johnson as the worst American President of the last century. Nelson Mandela is anti-American and I suspect borderline senile as well. Li Zhaoxing is a former Chinese government official and who wants a flack for a despotic communist government giving advice about anything? Then there's Desmond Tutu, who was last seen speaking up for Tookie Williams, a man who founded the Crips and then made some children's books to trick dumb liberals like Tutu into trying to save him from the death penalty.

If only this group of idiots would find some remote village somewhere and act as "elders" to them, it would give them something to do and get them out of our hair -- although I wouldn't want to lay odds that the village would still be around 5 years later.
