Over at CBS, RWN got a mention from cranky liberal, Michelle Cottle, who's a senior editor at The New Republic (How embarrassing is it to have that job right now?)

"I mean, why bother picking on Giuliani's spiritual shortcomings when America's Mayor is already taking a beating for the full range of his noxiously liberal views on conservative websites like Redstate.com and RightWingNews.com?"

RWN's latest blogger poll also got a mention in the USA Today On Politics section,

Not-yet-declared Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson scored highest when 59 "right-of-center bloggers" ranked the candidates they would most and least like to see as the GOP's 2008 presidential nominee, Right Wing News reports today.

John Hawkins, who runs Right Wing News and writes columns for Townhall.com, asked more than 230 of his right-of-center blogging friends to rank 10 Republicans according to who they most and least want to see at the top of the party's ticket. He used a scoring system to put together a ranking from the 59 responses he got. Thompson came out well ahead of the No. 2 -- Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif.

The candidate who fared worst: Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas.

How much should be read into this survey?

In January, former House speaker Newt Gingrich was the top choice. He's not part of the current survey. In January 2006, it was Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. She's no longer in the poll either.

This guy is latching onto the fact that Rice and Gingrich aren't in the poll any more at the close of his post? Wow, what a razor sharp eye for detail!

Here's a hint: Gingrich and Rice aren't a part of the poll because it seems likely at this late date that neither of them is running for President. Whether bloggers like them or don't is irrelevant if they're not running.
