John Hawkins Isiah Thomas' On The B-Word

A former New York Knicks executive at the center of a sexual harassment lawsuit repeatedly complained to a friend from work that coach Isiah Thomas had berated her with foul language, according to trial testimony Tuesday.

"What the f—- is your job? What are your job responsibilities, you f—-ing ho?" Thomas told former vice president Anucha Browne Sanders in 2004, according to the secondhand account of her friend, Jeffrey Nix.

...Nix, who testified Tuesday in Manhattan's U.S. District Court, worked for the Knicks for 15 years, including stints as a bench coach and in the front office. He said he was let go last month.

Nix said he recalled a number of conversations he had with Browne Sanders in 2004.

When another executive left the room during a meeting to make a phone call, Thomas told Browne Sanders, "Don't forget, you f——— b*tch, I'm the president of this f——— team," according to Nix.

...On the tape, Thomas also said that he would find it more offensive if a white male called a black female a "b*tch," than if a black male used the same term when speaking to a black female.

The biggest mystery here isn't whether Thomas committed sexual harassment or not, it's why the Knicks keep a talentless, racist punk like Thomas around. Sure, he was a great basketball player, but he is to coaching and being an executive what Todd Marinovich was to football.

But anyway, here's the part that really caught my attention,

On the tape, Thomas also said that he would find it more offensive if a white male called a black female a "b*tch," than if a black male used the same term when speaking to a black female.

Is that supposed to be a black thing that white people wouldn't understand? Is the idea supposed to be that if a white man says...

"Don't forget, you f——— b*tch, I'm the president of this f——— team."

...it's bad, but if a black man - say Isiah Thomas -- were to say that, it's OK?

I would be tempted to write this off as Isiah Thomas trying to play the race card, except for the Imus incident. Imus calls some basketball players "nappy headed hoes" and he loses his job. Meanwhile, the same women everyone is so offended for were probably listening to misogynistic rap music the same day referring to women as b*tches and hos.

So, is Isiah Thomas right? He shouldn't be, but from what I'm seeing, I think Isiah seems to be more in line with the way our society treats people than those of us who think everyone should be treated the same, regardless of color -- and that's too bad.
